Need some HELP here folks.

I completed the installation without a problem on Kernel Voodoo but after restarting, it puts me back to the installation startup. I don't seem to be going into the Desktop or whatever. This became an endless cycle of installation.

I'm SATA and SSE2.

Anyone with a solution?

I'm a total noobie, I tried installing the Kalyway Leo 10.5.1 but it locks up on the install at "Essentials", so I thought I'd try a newer version from a different developer.

I've downloaded iDeneb v.1.4 10.5.6 and hope someone can suggest which items I should install (or is there a "dictionary" somewhere that explains what the different options are?)

I've got an

Asus P5K Deluxe with an

Intel Core Duo E6600 with

2Gb of DDR2 (PCZ-6400) from Crucial Technology. Am using an

Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS with 256MB.

My twin Monitors are

Samsung 226BW @ 1680x1050.

Network is

RealTek RTL8169/8100 Family PCI Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)

Thanks for help/suggestions.

I've got a quick question on this install. For some reason, audio will not work. I have a Shuttle SFF SG33G5 with ALC888D audio. iDeneb 10.5.5 works great with my machine but for some reason 10.5.6 lacks audio. How do I fix this? I downloaded the ALCxxx audio driver collection and tried installing the ALC888d drier, but still, audio would not work. Any clues? Hints?

How can I save the audio driver from the 10.5.5 build, install 10.5.6 and then use the ALC888d driver from 10.5.5? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I have successfully installed iDeneb 1.4 using the Voodoo kernel. Now every time I reinstall and select the Vanilla (ie select nothing) it comes up saying "Waiting for root device..."

BUT! I am running an Abit P35 Pro, I selected the JMicron and ICHx patches I am missing something? From reading other forum posts, my hardware should be an ideal candidate for the Vanilla kernel?

Thanks

Oh how I love replying and answering my own posts! :)

I was being lazy and didn't want to trash my disk...but when erased the disk first all was well!

Only addition was needing to add cpus=1 to stop it panicing

What an impressive release. I've tried iAtKOS 5 and PC OSx86 10.5.6, both were OK with minimum issues, but I kept going back to my trusty-old-but-stable XxX 10.4.10 install. But no more.

iDeneb 1.4 made me a Leopard user at last. It installed successfully on my GA-945GZM-S2 mobo with a Dual Core E2160 using the following options:

- Kernel 9.2.2 SSE3

- Chipset ICHx fix

- Audio ALC883 (plain)

- Video Intel GMA950

- Realtek R1000

To update to 10.5.7 I had to backup the kexts using the included OSx86Tools, upgrade with System Update and then restore the kexts. Then reboot twice. Otherwise I would get no sound working after the update.

Thank you very much and congratulations for a flawless release!

Hi there, I'm getting the farthest with iDeneb 1.4, so I thought I would ask the question here.

GA-EX58-UD3R/i7 920/6GB Ram/WD 500GB SATA/Ssamsung SATA/GTX 285 1GB

I've been having the most luck with a minimal install:

9.5. Voodoo kernel, JMicronATA, Realtek R1000 everything else default

Have also tried with a ton of different kexts, but it has booted the farthest with that

I get a kernel panic right after the following components load:

IOACPI: 0x20

ACPI: System State [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)

mbinit: done

Security auditing service present

BSM auditing present

From path: "uuid"

Waiting for boot volume with UUID [uUID here]

Waiting on Io Provider Class IOResources IOResource Match boot-uuid-media

Then the panic says it is type 14 and error code: 0x0000000

Debugger backtrace points to com.apple.AppleAHCIPort

dependnecy: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily

dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOAHCIFamily

Last line is the System Model Number.

EDIT: Update -- Flipping back to IDE/SATA mixed mode fixed the kernel panic. Apple][guy's guide for settings and the comments in that thread point out a potential fix, at least for this mobo(GA-EX58-UD3R). Up into iDeneb now, so I wanted to thank the iDeneb team.

I would like to point out it might be useful to list the default modified kexts that are auto-added for the distro, just so people can compare against what they think they need and what is defaulted just from the baseline install. YMMV

Success !!

Running Asus A6JC laptop! Everything seems nice and dandy except I didnt get QE working with NVinject Go 128 from the distro. Loaded NYC Coyote's modified kext and video plays really nice + dual monitor support!

my xbech went from 89 to 120 with this kext.

Rock on!

link to kext;

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1080236

u only changed the wifi adapter ? Cos i tried to install on the same laptop and audio, wifi and video not working..

so i presume that video can be fixed using that kext u say, wifi canging the original intel...and audio ??

thanks

Hello again...

No answers. But anyway i got internet running now.

I just found a driver (atl1e) and installed it with osx-tools.

Immediately my Network was found.

Now the only thing i want to change is the resolution.

I only get 1024x768 while my Notebook has an original

resolution of 1366x768. editing the *.plist file didnt help anything.

Any suggestions here?

EDIT:

Ok i found out this happens because my grafix running in vesa mode.

No widescreen resolution that would fit for me.

I will have to wait on a driver for my hd3470x2.
