Eskurza Posted April 7, 2006 Author Share Posted April 7, 2006 Hey skyliner, with the AMD cpu, i still have no success. seems like even if the kernel is replaced, there are some problems booting the qui.. Polaty is working on a Venice 3000+ with ati chipset. stuck right before the gui kicks in. complaning about unable to install some kext files.. I will keep you guys posted. EDIT: Looks like a lot problems with Audio Kexts in general. Also for people with GMA900 we should remind that QE doesnt work even with the 10.4.5 kexts. ****** Also if you choose to do a fresh install by using this dvd, before you start anything open the terminal with and use the -bless set boot command to set boot to your partiton. othervise it doesnt seem to install the boot loader. I had some issues with 10.4.5. like the non working preview-app. Also 10.4.5 slowed down my gui, so I switched back to 10.4.4. where everything is fine *except* iTunes. Domino, did you managed to get around this? My mp3 library is located on another drive, and I was unable to get iTunes to use it directly from there without copying it to my osx drive. Did you solved that problem? (I alkso messed around with the old itunes xml library file but no dice. Even if i change the drive letters, it will not find the mp3 data.) I had a look in the maxxuss patches that fixes the issues for iTunes but all I saw were updated frameworks etc. And I didn't dare to take the risk of installing it in 10.4.4. for some reasons So the iTunes issue is the only thing bugging me in 10.4.4. Maybe there is an older Version available, or I should simply use the 10.4.3. version of iTunes... I have USB audio, but I have erased my 10.4.5 previous installation. Now, of course, it doesn't work. How do I get the APPLEUSBAUDIO.kext that worked??? PLEASE HELP!
