Hello,

I'm a newbee in hackintosh.

My material

mob: GA-EX58-UD5 (rev1.0)

DVD drive: NEC 7200S

Memory:G.Skill Extreme NQ 3x2GO DDR3 PC10666

Core i7 920 with original Intel fan

Gainward HD4850-512 Golden Sample

SATA 150 drive 80Go (for XP64)

2 x SATA 1To drive Samsung SPINpoint F1 for future OSX RAID 0

Well i mounted all of it but i have no screen and de debug LED toggles between 69 and 6F with short beeps for 10 sec

Award bios error codes says 6F = 1.Initialize floppy controler 2. Set up floppy related fields in 40:hardware

What does this mean ?

I would be very greatfull if any body could help me ?

Thanks

(I know that HD4850 is not ready fully supported in OSX)

The 4850 will still work with osx86, just with no acceleration. BIOS won't do anything.

Sorry that I can't help with installation on your motherboard though, it's a brand new thing so it's still very tricky - no guides or anything yet.

I think you answered by yourself: 4850 is not supported yet. Maybe you have to wait for a bios update.

I was not really waiting for this kind of reply ! :)

You seem to like Nvidia.!

Like i said my PC is virgin and stucks on first utilisation !

I am not sure, but there is a gigabyte boot bug if you set IHC 10 to AHCI and the jmicron to IDE, then you get no boot, you get bootscreen but after memory init. the darn thing hangs....

check bios, disable jmicron aka onboard ide, or set it to ahci.

Thanks for your interest for my problem

How can I access bios ? I can't even boot into to nothing , while the led debug indicator is toggling between 69 and 6F ! beeping at the 6F

I will contact probably next monday Gigabyte tech.service for explanation

Having the same problem. No post. Hex error 69 to 6F. Fast short continuous beeps.

I have G.Skill PI ram (F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI-:D

I've updated the bios to F5 (2/29/2009)

I've tried the ram in 1, 3, 5 and 2, 4, 6. All sticks are good but bios will only post when two sticks are in slots 1 & 3.

Any ideas?

EDIT: CPU retainer had a bent pin. RMA'd it today.

I've been through a lot with this problem. 2 UD5 motherboards, 2 920 chips (thanks to gigabyte customer service not knowing {censored}), 2 power supplies (thanks to PC Warehouse's advice). THE RAM WAS THE PROBLEM. Try new RAM, preferably of a different type or speed. I got the 1066 RAM that was rated for the 920 chips originally, and my system would not post. I just put in 1300 RAM and it works great. Typing from this system right now. (Vista... Kalyway works, but I've been unable to install retail OSX so far.) Good luck, to anyone with this problem. I know from experience, there's not much of an answer on the internet right now, so hopefully my cluster{censored} can be someone else's answer!
