Prog
How do you take a screenshot in OS X? (Like the printscreen key function in Windows). Thanks. P.S. This is on a real Mac (an iBook). setec
Also, Apple+SHIFT+4 --> This gives you a cursor that you can drag and select the space you want in the screenshot image. Apple+SHIFT+4, then hit SPACEBAR --> This will take a screenshot of the active window. kagaku
Does anyone know what causes the weird texturing/compression artifacts that are present in all screenshots? It doesn't matter what program I use to take the screenshot, either using apple+shift+3, Grab.app, or Snap 'n Drag; they all produce the same results. Here's an example: http://outrigged.com/misc/2005.09.11.png If you look at the background wallpaper, you can easily see what I'm talking about. firebush05
One more thing. If you plan on putting a screenshot on the internet, you will need to convert it from .tiff format (i think its tiff) to something like jpeg, etc. Grab won't do it, so I use Grab I load the saved screenshot into a working build of Preview.app, then select EXPORT from the pull down menu, export where ever, and select the format you want to change it to. SAVE AS does not give you this option. There are many other methods, but thought I'd throw it out there. kagaku
Has anyone made any progress on the weird texture on screenshots? Here's another example of the problem I'm still having: http://outrigged.com/misc/2005.09.25.png Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1379-how-do-you-take-a-screenshot/#findComment-19404 Share on other sites
