  1. Finally have access to my machine. Updated from 10.6.7 to 10.6.8. Replaced offending AppleHDA.kext, repaired kext caches and rebooted. ** had to remove RadeonMonitor.kext as it kept kp'ing.
  2. Anyone has a vanilla way of doing the update to 10.6.8?
  3. Ah got it. Is there anyway to use the new DSDT and get SS still (via a kext?) or are they mutually exclusive?
  4. Am seeing slightly higher CPU temperatures (~3 degrees C) after using the new DSDT. This is cause of the removal of SS code?
  5. Guys, think you should read the first post with regards to creating a vanilla build as closely as possible. The lesser kexts you use (the more vanilla you are) the less chances for errors.
  6. Erm. Didn't really do benchmarks from 10.6.6 so I can't give a numerical comparison. Feels about the same to me I guess. Incidentally, what are you guys using for the SMproductname in smbios.plist? I have to use MacPro5,1 if not I won't get CPU and GPU temperatures. However, I don't seem to be getting fan speeds and all that. I've the following extensions in /E/E, FakeSMC.kext ACPIMonitor.kext IntelCPUMonitor.kext IntelThermal.kext JMicronATA.kext (to get PATA for my DVD burner) P6T-SE.kext RadeonMonitor.kext
  7. Just updated to 10.6.7. No visible issues. Sound works without a need to reinstall the patched kext.
  8. Realtek 8168/8111 solution

RTGNIC 2.0.6 seems to be posted.;GetDown=false KPs randomly once in a while on 64 bit mode for me. Otherwise, no issues with sleep and WOL for me afaik
  9. Ideneb resolution 800x600

You can manually force resolutions by editing your boot.plist in your /Extra or /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist Add the following before the [codeblock]</dict>[/codeblock] [codeblock] <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> [/codeblock]
  10. need help to boot correctly

ntfs is always recognised by OS X but mounted read only. your freezing issue sounds like a graphics problem. make sure you have the correct drivers for your graphics if not you will always have to boot in safe mode (mode -x)
  11. Chicony Internal USB Webcam Help.

or you can try maccam. http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/
  12. You need an smbios.plist that is the /Extra folder of your boot drive. Here's a minmal one. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-F221BEC8</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>MacPro</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacPro5,1</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>G8031788GWR</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>MP51.007F.B00.0903051113</string> </dict> </plist> You can swop the SMfamily to MacBookPro and SMproductname to something like MacBookPro4,1.
  13. Introduce yourself.

Hi guys, Have been doing DIY stuff for ages before but only until recently decided to try a hackintosh when I needed a new Mac. Running 10.6.6 on a Asus P6T SE with an i7-950 CPU. Am from Singapore.
