Slice Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 This kext do nothing. Panel "Backlight" appers in registry but no more. The link is dead because the kext never works. I can propose use other solution for same purpose. 1. Make DSDT patch to insert the follow Device (PNLF) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("APP0002")) Name (_CID, "backlight") Name (_UID, 0x0A) Name (_STA, 0x0B) } Then replace IOGraphicsFamily to patched one. And controll can move, However there is no effect to the display. Aranius Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 doing this showed me the brightnessthing in Monitor, and presisng my BrightnesscontrolKeys shows the faded thing on my Display, but it doesn't do anything, when i change the Brightness via Monitor it instantly flips back to the beginning and nothing happens... Do you have any idea how I could remap my brightness control keys from <ScrLk> <Break> to <F1> <F2> with DSDT? If possible I'd like to avoid mucking around with function flip. z0rgatr0n Posted September 1, 2011 Share Posted September 1, 2011 I have the exact same issue on a HP Mini 1000 on SL 10.6.8 (gma950/945). PNLF added to the DSDT, scroll/pause adjusts brightness with the "sun" overlay in the OSX GUI. But after sleep, brightness is stuck at full-blast. Have you discovered a fix?
