hi guys, i've installed successfully OSX 10.4.5 with MyZar Patch..

everything work well, but i can only shutdown.. when a try to reboot the system hangs to "MACH REBOOT"..

with 10.4.3 i've used the hex method.. but with 10.4.5 it doesn't work :hysterical:

the BIOS version is not the lastest the board is the simpel A8N-SLI not DELUXE or PREMIUM

Thanks for any help! :)

Same here.

A8N-SLI Deluxe and I think it's the 1016 final BIOS. I can shutdown, but I can't reboot.

And sometimes I have got the problem that when I want to boot OSX the Computer hangs on while the circle is rotating, does anyone have similar problems?

Same rebooting problem here (DFI Lanparty UT NF4-D)

Oddly enough, Windows gives me a wierd pause (mouse can't move) when I'm rebooting it. Anyone else seen that as well?

EDIT: I've never had OSX hang on boot for me. There is about a 15 second pause while it is waiting for some driver to respond (you should see it if you run verbose mode), and then it continues booting.

Strange to say, when I type -v for verbose mode, anything is perfect, it boots perfectly. In verbose mode it never hasn't freezed, only when the apple is shown.. I can't understand it.. :)

Can I tell Darwin that osx should load only with the -v command?

If I'm not wrong, when on startup, there is a IOKitWaitQuiet() pause that delays booting by about a few seconds. This is probably due to the SATA controller (from the Nforce SATA thread).

Could this have also caused the MACH reboot problem?

edit: Hi there. my first post :-)

Same problems here. A8N-SLI Premium, 10.4.5 Myzar.

No shutdown, Reboot seems to work sometimes, sometimes not. HDD Sleep Mode seems to work. Sometimes I can access the Energy Saving preferences, sometimes not.

I feel really stupid for buying an nVidia nForce4 SLI chipset (and the A8N-SLI Premium was quite expensive back when I bought mine). Damn, why did I sell my old VIA based system with ATI graphics?? :) The nForce4 's a great chipset as I understand it (runs superb on Windows). I really really hope some of you guys will come up with a solution (maybe an all-in-one-nForce-installer? :D )

This is my current MacAMDtoshX86 system so far:

AMD Athlon 64 3500: shown as 3,7 GHz but works fine

MSI NX6600GT-TD128E (PCIe): Native 1280x1024x32@60Hz resolution with MacVidia drivers (GREAT JOB!) but still waiting for OpenGL/QE/CI :( though Geforce fan is running at full speed all the time which is quite annoying...

SATA: not working, contains my valuable data (work etc.) so I did not put any effort in that because I don't want to loose that data

PATA: works

Onboard nVidia LAN: works with patched Linux drivers, no problems so far

Onboard Marvell Yukon LAN: not working

Onboard AC97 sound: not working I did try to add dev-ID and vendor-ID to the kext but it was already in there. Changing PnP-aware OS to enabled/disabled in the BIOS did not help either. System profiler does not see any sound device. Anyone has a hint for me?

One strange thing: I had plugged in an old Creative Sound Blaster 16. Sound worked "okay" but the whole system was quite unresponsive - especially Dock animation, Dashboard etc. Maybe some kind of IRQ conflict?

Did anyone of you have more success with an nForce4 chipset or even with an A8N-SLI Premium?

:( Hrmm, I maybe should have put this into four or five topics/posts...

my onboard ac97 sound works fine, i have the same motherboard as you (a8n-sli premium) and the same build (myzar 10.4.4) as for the lan, there is a topic for drivers in development here but the driver is still buggy. I haven't tried it myself.
