MacNutty
The awaited iPhone has been launched in India by both Vodafone and Bharati Airtel and will be available from 22 Aug. But the prices quoted by both the providers are too high compared to the prices in U.S. (source: http://www.airtel.in/iphone3g/getready.html) 8 GB (Black) for Rs 31000.<LI>16GB (White & Black) for Rs 36100. I think we should wait for the prices to fall down. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121904-iphone-launched-in-india/ Share on other sites
aliasa_anderson
Well,i dont think they will fall. in US the prices are subsidised by the carrier AT&T .but that does not apply for carriers in India. The price for the iPHONE without contract in US is 600$,so untill this reduces, the prices in India will remain same. Moreover i dont think apple needs to reduce them either. Synaesthesia
rs = Indian Rupees. You can use the handy converter widget in OS X's dashboard. 31000rs = $709 (8gb iPhone) 36100rs = $825 (16gb iPhone) God, Apple can really rip off their non-US customers sometimes! I wonder what it's gonna cost when it's released here in South Africa. C'mon Apple, release it already!!!
