Is Dell in a time warp? Didn't they try to go down this route something like 8 years ago with a "we can do it to" model after the imacs release? I believe they cancelled it less than a year letter. And by the way, whoa colors, who would have ever thought of such an amazing marketing strategy (old). Are they only capable of regurgitating old ideas? What a bunch of goobers!

Ok, almost all references to their past attempt have disappeared;however, this one is still up and it shows the colors they used to offer with their WebPC that they offered back in 1999. they discontinued it in 2000. Notice how they are very similar approaches? The hardware is improved a bit, but it is essentially a complete rehash.

Here is the lame commercial Dell made for the last time they tried this out with their failed WebPC.

Old ideas never seem to die at Dell. They just seem to slumber only to rise like zombies from the past. Hey, maybe this should be called Dell's zombie pc, since it is the living dead of past Dell failures. What will they resurrect next?

These are very nice new small Intel PC's (core 2 duo and such) from Dell which start at $500. Whatcha guys think?

Dell Studio Hybrid PC

It's about time Dell made something you won't be embarrassed to have sitting around. The Dell Studio Hybrid PC ($500 and up) is the company's smallest and greenest desktop, and can be personalized with six interchangeable color sleeves or one in bamboo. The Studio Hybrid is about 80% smaller and uses about 70% less power than a typical desktop. Powered by either an Intel Pentium Dual Core (1.86GHz) or Intel Core 2 Duo (2GHz) processor, the mini PC features slot-load DVD, HDMI, an optional Blu-ray Disc drive and an optional TV tuner.
Am I the only one excited about this? It looks as if this can run OS X no problem, and I might just order one to put in my basement for a little PC setup next to the entertainment center.

I'm looking forward for this. :) Hopefully if funds go good on my end, I hope to get one of these for the living room, a couple of 360 controllers, and use this for roms.

Truly, for the price they are selling their WebPC 2.0 can someone tell me how it is a better value than a mac mini. It seems like the mac mini is priced better and comes with OS X to boot. Of course there is that other little thing that it is made by Dell. I for one wouldn't trust dell to keep this machine shipping for any significant amount of time. They always seem to drop their minimalist designs and go back to standard pc boxes.
