ok, I guess I can not recover.

Is there a way to boot it so that I can transfer the files to another mac?

(its a SATA disk, and I do not have any external cases for it)

Thank you,

do you have a INTEL or AMD machine? GUID or MBR Partition Table?

Insulation tape?

You will have to restore all the extensions etc. Otherwise boot windows, install macdrive, grab important data and reinstall OS X.

Why do people propagate this kind of disinformation.. a quick boot from a DVD or usb stick, move a couple of files & you're all back up & running..

(start with getting rid of appleintelcpupowermanagement etc)

The break-fix cycle of updating is a well-established procedure, and vastly preferable to risking filesystem corruption using macdrive.

Wonder if someone could create a image with BartPE...It runs a small version of Windows XP off a CD, maybe configure MACdrive to run on this, it would save a ton of people problems in this case....because you could just drag and drop to a flash drive or something......just a thought...
