kk249
I had installed the Leo4all v3 and Kalyway 10.5.2 on my ex-system of ASUS P5K-E Wifi, I replaced the motherboard with the new ASUS P5Q-Deluxe few days ago, every other hardwares are the same. As expected both Leo4all and Kalyway can't boot up and the both installation disc can't boot up too. I think we have to wait for the next updates to support this P45 chipset! Thank you in advance for your reply.
Yes, everything works on Gigabyte GA-P45-DS4, I started with Iatkos 4 with efi and vanilla kernel. Worked but, some things where mentioned wrong, processor speed and bus speed. ICH10 is mentioned as unknown AHCI controller, but it works. All programs working, except Logic Pro 8.0.2 (dreadfull audio midi sync problem). Upgraded to vanilla 10.5.5 (found guide on this forum, pre patch, comboupdate 10.5.5, post patch, restart). Everything is now properly recognized in system profiler, only the ich10 not yet. Still same problem with Logic Pro). As this is a DAW Hackintosh, I was desperate and used the post patch again, and switched to a patched kernel, and YEY, now everything is running great! Including Logic Pro. No longer vanilla, but I don't care. Oh yeah, I downloaded the realtek lan drivers from the realtek website for the 8111 LAN, working super on my gigabit network. Blazing speed between my Vista64 PC and my Hackintosh Leopard PC. I'm using an external Edirol FA-66 firewire audio card, so I don't know if the onboard audio works. Videocard NVidia XFX 7600GT XXX working great with NVinject with two big screen S-IPS Dell monitors connected. All USB's are also working.
Zac Jardine
Hi, To boot Kalyway 10.5.2 and 10.5.1 on a P45 motherboard, you need to use "cpus=1 -legacy -platform -f". At setup screen, select JSSE2_Jas1048_ACPI_APIC, or SSE2 in Kalyway 10.5.1, DON'T SELECT ANY VIDEO DRIVERS! In Kalyway 10.5.2, select Boot with "cpus=1" flag, all Motherboard Chipsets, none of the sound drivers and if you want, VanillaKernel and others. Boot time take 10 minutes from DVD. On reboot after install, you will see flying stars an Welcome! There's no sound or video yet on mine, but I hope to fix that soon.
