  2. Well almost the same question has been asked from me, too. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=110698 I work for a Reseller Store in Germany, so the G/P43 chipset has not as much features like the P35 or G/P45 chipset. Both use the ICH10-Bridge. Only the PCIe gaming performance is lower of the 43ers. e.g. 1x PCIe 2.0 with 16x, not Crossfire compatible and no secondary and teritiaer PCIe with 8x. Greetz PS: Our technician told me, that ICH9 drivers should work. But I'll try to boot OSX 10.4 and 10.5 from one of our P45 Mainbards. If I'm successful, I'll write here an answer. Greetz enzo
  3. Hi, this month ASUS and MSI released mainboards with Intel's new P45 chipset and the ICH10 southbridge chipset. It features: 6x S-ATAII ports, 1x GBit LAN, 1x PCIe 2.0 x16 2x PCIe 2.0 x8, max. 16GB 667/800/1066/1333 DDR2 and DDR3 RAM. For example the: MSI P45 Neo-F/FR/Neo2-FR, P45 Platinum and P45D3 ASUS P5Q /Pro /Deluxe Do you know if one of this boards is able to run Leopard, or if there are any problems with USB, SATAII controller, sound or something else. Thank you in advance for your reply. Greetz enzo
  4. Problems with GMA900 on Leopard

Well, most users here want to run 10.5. You also can, but just without QE/CI Updates? Well, Apple released the source code for Darwin, but no source for the GMA900 is included there. So, no source, no compile, no run. A binary version of Darwin has not been uploaded by Apple for now, but it may follow next week. We'll see when it's out on ADC. Then the big question will be, if drivers are inside there. :/ Greetz eNZO
  5. Problems with GMA900 on Leopard

The Diabolik patch has the same *.kext and *.bundle and *.plugin-Files, like I used. The difference is, that it has included the OpenGL Framework from a 10.4.x version. zhaiai tried to replace that OpelGL Framework and it freezed his computer. Well, maybe when Apple releases Darwin 9.0 x86 source and binary with the new Kernel, it may be, that they'll distibute the source for the gma900, too. With that it should be not very difficult to build/compile one in XCode 3, that works in harmony with leopard. If I have new information I'll post it right here. Btw. yeah, it'd be very nice, if somebody could upload that kexts and the opengl.framework from kalyway's dvd. Greetz eNZO
  6. Problems with GMA900 on Leopard

Okay, back again. Well, nothing worked. I tried combining the old'n'new framebuffer.kext with the old'n'new files. This just freezed my computer. I tried to use the GMA950 files by editing their Info.plist's referring to my DevID and VenID. Then permissions were set, the Extensions.mkext deleted and I rebooted the computer. While booting in verbose it has shown some errors about the AppleIntelGMA950.kext file, but booted into the OS. Now I have some artifacts sometimes under the Apple-menu but still no CI/QE. Then, after trying to kextload the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext I got some fancy artifacts all over my screen and it freezed. Btw. You can look if you have QE/CI if you open up dashboad and activate a new widget. While appearing/dropping it on the Dashboard, there should be a water ripples effect. My Menu-Bar at the top and the dock aren't translucent. Maybe that's an indicator, too. Greetz eNZO
  7. Hi, maybe everyone who has a GMA900 and wants to get CoreImage and Quartz Extreme working will have problems. 1st I tried with 3 files from my 10.4.8. I copied: - AppleIntel915GLDriver.bundle - AppleIntel915GA.plugin - AppleIntel915.kext did a chmod -R 755 a chown -R root:wheel and then kextloaded -t them. It went well and it loaded. But it has not shown up in Sys-Profiler with QE supported. Even after a re-login. So I copied the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext, and set the permission like with the other files. EDIT: I now tried to load the AppleIntel915.kext now with the old IntelFramebuffer. But it doesn't load. While trying to post an edit with the error I got, I tried to kextunload the IntelFramebuffer, just to kextload it again. But while unloading it, it freezed my computer. /EDIT Well, maybe if someone has the same problem (and I guess there's a lot of you, too) just post here. Maybe a solution can be found by sharing some information. I'll play a bit now with that files and look for some more information on other boards. But first trying to let Leo boot from HD and not via DVD and the rd= switch. Ah, btw. I have a patched kernel, (the one you can patch yourself, distibuted with sourcecode). Well, I have an SSE3 but no HPET and NX, so for now I'm stuck with that nice thing. EDIT 2: Now trying an other method. Will be posting if it works, and if it does, I'll make an How-To for you. Greetz eNZO
  8. Wow! Thats amazing! Thank you very much, and thanks to all that helped to make this work.

Totally awesome rap song about Mac vs PC. A real good produced Clip. Greetz eNZO
  10. Extract Leo's pkg-files with XAR

Well, Leo uses XAR. Before pkg-files were directories (show content in finder). Now pkg-files are "real" files. AFAIK It's like if you take only the "bom"-file and compressing it with xar, while including an XML to extract parts only of the file, if needed and not the whole package. Here's a link where you can find out more about it: hxxp://www.tuaw.com/2006/12/31/xar/ Btw. The header in Hex looks like my attachment. When you need more information about, just tell me, but now, time for bed, I have school in 5 hours. Greetz eNZO EDIT: Couldn't attach file. Hosted on my site:
  11. Hi guys n girls, I don't know if you have also problems with extracting Leo's pkgs within Tiger. Leo uses XAR (Extensible Archive Format) to compress its pkg-files. Here how to extract the files: 1. Download XAR-1.5.1 (I compiled it with 10.4.9 and the newest XCode) hxxp://enzomusic.en.funpic.de/XAR.zip 2. Extract it and open Terminal (go to the directory you extracted it) 3. To extract an pkg, start xar with: ./xar -x -f /directory/file.pkg (I always copy the pkg first to my hdd then copy the xar into the same, due to errors that could occur) You will see some files now. The important one is the "Payload"-File. 4. Right-click on payload, open with "BOM-...." 5. Voila. PS: I could not extract every pkg. I dunno why, I'm not a programmer (well, ARM is not C# x86) When you are interested on the source-code take a look at the project page: hxxp://code.google.com/p/xar/ ) Greetz eNZO
  12. On legality and Leopard...

Hi guys n girls, my opinion about Software piracy: (music and movies are to much I could write about *g*, but they are the ones with the biggest disprofit) You really can't say that "all" companies are really hurt when using and not paying for their software. A big software company here in south-west Germany, that makes a burning software for windows for example, does it most of its overturn with OEM licenses. Think about **** Express, that is shipped with the PC's from the supermarket, if you buy a new CD/DVD Writer, or a DVD-Player that supports **** Digital. The Retail licenses you can personally purchace by stockists and retailers does only a few percent of their business volume. And they don't really care about chasing people using their software for free. But a good thing here is, that they share a 30 day trial for use. Software, that is programmed by only one or a few persons (mostly shareware) and is not paid for, could ruin the programmers, cause they invest time and sweat and get their money by the purchase of every license. No insurance, ammortisation and subsidations. They really should be paid. Also, this little programs do a good job and are cheap. But no normal person (I'm a student) could afford to buy a license of Rational Rose, Navision, or best example, the Adobe CS3 Design edition. I think as long as you don't use pirated sofware to make money it's okay. Well, when you make your apprenticeship or study, you don't have money for that, of course. So why don't use Freeware? Most companies (here in Germany) use common software because they can set it off against tax liability and people that are newly employed can use more resources to learn commercial programs. And if they come from other companies, they are used to the software. When I think about 5 years ago, (when I wasn't full of age) I went to a vocational college for commercial information technology, almost everybody had notebooks or HDD's to copy fresh pirated stuff in the breaks. It was just common. So to concise: I do, and for me it's okay, as long I don't use it for commercial purpose only for educational one. Btw. Germany is under the Top10 software pirating countries which I'm not proud about. Here the statistics: hxxp://www.bsa.org/germany/presse/newsreleases/upload/Piracy%20Study%20FINAL%20REPORT.pdf Greetz eNZO

Nope, for almost 5 yrs now. I'm 21 (22 in July) and lost it with 17. Well, to cut a long story short... 15. Traktor 3 UB

Hi again. Finally I found a working solution. I think the problem is that TDJS 3 setup makes this virtual port like it should, but because we all have an SP-DIF output, the setup routine configures the new virtual output to the SP-DIF instead to route it to the PCM device. Maybe the Setup is fault, or any internal number given by the driver to the audio devices. Well, here is the solution how to add a Virtual output: Open Finder. Go into "Utilities" and double-click the "Audio MIDI Setup" icon. In the menu choose "Audio" and "Open Aggregate Device Editor". There you'll find 2 lists. Aggregated Devices and the real ones. Click on "+" to create a new virtual. Choose a name, and your PCM output device (it's the one where a number greater than 0 is shown is the "Out"-row). Just press done and close the program. (Btw. You cannot set any preferences for the virtual device but you also don't need to.) Last step, open up TDJS 3 and choose the new virtual device in the audio settings. Set your channels and now let's rock and spin the turntables. Greetz, Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year eNZO a.k.a. Dee-J Van Guard PS: Please excuse my bad english, but I've been making party and I drank a bit too much alcohol, but without I wouldn't be able to present you a solution.
