~pcwiz
Firefox 3 (Release Candidate 2) Release Notes Released: June 4, 2008 This second Firefox 3 Release Candidate is a preview release of Mozilla's next generation Firefox browser and is being made available for testing purposes only. Preview releases are published to collect feedback from Web developers and our testing community before advancing to the next stage in the release process. The final version of Firefox 3 will be released when we qualify the product as fully ready for our users. Users of the latest released version of Firefox should not expect all of their add-ons to work properly with this preview release. Please see below for an extensive list of features and enhancements found in Firefox 3, as well as known issues and frequently asked questions. As always, we appreciate your feedback either through this feedback form or by filing a bug in Bugzilla. What's New in Firefox 3 Firefox 3 is based on the Gecko 1.9 Web rendering platform, which has been under development for the past 34 months. Building on the previous release, Gecko 1.9 has more than 14,000 updates including some major re-architecting to provide improved performance, stability, rendering correctness, and code simplification and sustainability. Firefox 3 has been built on top of this new platform resulting in a more secure, easier to use, more personal product with a lot more under the hood to offer website and Firefox add-on developers. http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0/releasenotes/ That was a pretty quick update from RC1. I guess RC1 had a lot of bugs so they released this one. Just got it now from Software Update, seems pretty good. No differences I can see from RC1, but overall it seems more stable. laatmaarzien
Super duper fast on my Hackie... Loving it. Love the bookmark feature and with the foxmarks add-on working perfectly, no reason at all to use any other browser. Can't see any UI differences from RC1. Does anyone have a changelog for this ver? InorganicMatter
Yeah, there were several huge bugs, the most severe ones were on Linux. Running great over here, and no more Digg commenting bug!
~pcwiz
Its basically the same as RC1, except most of the major bugs are fixed, thats what I think.
A Nonny Moose
Can someone please tell me if Firefox 3 is anything better than stupidly slow on a PowerPC Mac? Either they can't code for PowerPC (as with previous versions) or they just don't care.
Guest MrRogers
Can someone please tell me if Firefox 3 is anything better than stupidly slow on a PowerPC Mac? Either they can't code for PowerPC (as with previous versions) or they just don't care. It runs O.K. on my G5.. nothing to write home about though... Balto
That fast? I was just testing out RC1. Didn't encounter much problems with RC1 though. But that's perhaps I seldom use it.

apowerr
The best browser on OSX, Windows and Linux. RC2 is running great in Leopard and Vista, Mozilla never disappoints. +1 for free software
