knewsom
That's the mobo I was initially considering, until I found that I could buy an X38 chipset board for only a small amount more, giving me more room to grow in the future.
loudog3114
Im not against grabbing the new abit X38 board but how is mac compatibility with that chipset?

newbmac
How did you decide on the ABIT motherboard from the HCL?? Seems like best boards are the Gigabyte and ASUS for compatibility.
knewsom
I believe he said he's ABIT for life, guess I missed that bit too. I always marvel at consumer loyalty to companies and brand names when clearly it's absolutely impossible for it to be reciprocated.

Knewsom, Any problems installing and running Leopard with the GA-EX38-DS4? I've done tons of research on motherboards and I have pretty much settled on the Leopard GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P... How would EX38 help with future upgrades? Processor wise? Thanks, John V.

I always marvel at consumer loyalty to companies and brand names when clearly it's absolutely impossible for it to be reciprocated. I stick with abit because ive used them for about 8 years and never failed to get higher benchmarks, more stability, better oc'ing, and better quality boards than friends of mine that have gone gb, asus, msi, etc. Thats how they pay me back
inimicus
2GB PC3200? That board is DDR2 800MHz. And get more RAM.
digitallysick
I agree the ram you selected is far to slow , get at least some 1066 mem gskill is fairly cheap and good
