teknojunkie
if your going to coding id suggest getting a intel mac since newer apps only support intel and faster, reliable and can install winblows Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100765-considering-buying-a-mac/#findComment-729476 Share on other sites
sarahbau
An Intel Mac mini would be good for all of that. Just make sure you get one with a superdrive if you want to do iDVD. Synaesthesia
Yes, XCode compiles "Universal Binaries" - Programs that contain Intel and PowerPC code, so no problem there... Just a word of advice, it is a royal pain in the ass to replace the Hard Drive in an eMac. It took me and a friend about six hours...as for wireless+RAM, that's easy... Learn the systemWrite basic programs using xCode Make an iWeb webpage maybe use a bit of iMovie and iDvd An intel mac or hackintosh will perform a lot better than a G4, the G5 is quite fast though... It took me and a friend about six hours...as for wireless+RAM, that's easy... I hated working on eMacs. They're big and heavy because of the monitor. It seems like every one of them needed the IVAD cable replaced, which was annoying to do, and putting them back together was even a pain, though I can't remember why -- I think it was something with the power button cable.
