  2. Well, maybe it's off topic, but I must say that I really like the way all the masters (forgive this definition ) and the members here support everyone in this passion. I don' t refer only to the technical knowledge, but also to the kindness and willingness. So without sappy words thanks you.

  6. Absolutely!!! Right now I have one in my rig which house Ventura on a M.2 Drive. Just be careful you pick the correct one pertaining to the particular Drive, either an M.2 or a Sata Drive. It supports both types. You can tell the difference between the two by the placement of the accommodating Slot on the Drive and the adapter.

  7. @HurricaneX As Apple officially only caters for the maximum of 15 ports in Macs, the general consensus is that we should aim for the same or less. as @miliuco pointed out there is nothing wrong with having more than but you can/may run into issues with some USB or other related issues having that many. If you're happy with the operation of your machine, by all means carry on, as the saying goes........'One man's meat is another man's'......... etc, etc. Cheers.

  8. OpenCore 1.0.0 is out. Despite the version number, it is not a major change but rather one more step in the continuous evolution of OpenCore. There are quite a few changes and improvements, updating is recommended. You can get it from Acidanthera. Main changes Updated builtin firmware versions for SMBIOS and the rest Utilities now require macOS 10.9+ (OpenCore itself still supports macOS 10.4+) Added AllowRelocationBlock support for 32-bit version Fixed problem loading non-firmware runtime drivers (e.g. OpenRuntime.efi) in OpenDuet Fixed alphabetical ordering in Configuration.pdf. Config.plist Added Booter -> Quirks -> AllowRelocationBlock (support for 32-bit OpenCore): this quirk is needed to boot macOS 10.6 and older with 32-bit kernel in 32-bit OVMF. Hibernation wake is not compatible with this quirk. Sample.plist and SampleCustom.plist: The settings required to reactivate the Broadcom Wi-Fi that have lost support in Sonoma have been added, they are the ones that we already use proposed by OCLP. Kexts AppleALC 1.9.0 HibernationFixup 1.5.0 VoodooInput 1.1.4.

  9. I should have been clearer about "disable HPET." Apple has been disabling HPET in ACPI since 2018 Mac models (including your iMac19,1). I have never disabled HPET in BIOS and am not sure of the effects. If you look at the EFI posted by MaLd0n, you'll see that his SSDT sets HPTE=0. This causes HPET._STA = 0 for that particular ACPI. Yours may be different.

  10. @HurricaneX Of course you can have more than 15 ports using USBInjectAll. The drawback is that there are issues very often, especially sleep and wake do not work properly. I don't know if it happens to you.

  11. Agreed. For older SMBIOS, I do not set HPET._STA =0

  12. HPET is needed for AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext which is used up to IvyBridge CPU.

  14. I don't know how Windows lives. Once I tested 3D graphics in Windows with two cases HPET switched on in BIOS and off. The results are different but Windows works in both cases.

  15. @Slice - @MaLd0n 's Proposed config.plist includes unconditional ACPI patches that change TMR, RTC and PIC IRQs. My question remains - if not obsolete, why don't these changes affect Windows? I'm asking because I don't know - not because I'm challenging anyone.

  16. I said nothing about RTC and PIC. They are not obsolete.

  17. I've taken the liberty and updated the OC version and kext files within the attached EFI Folder. To give you the choice to try it on a spare USB Drive. You will have to furnish the config.plist with your machine data. I noticed from the 'Read Me' within, the OP did not use OCLP but the other alternative for wifi but that is easily remedied. 18. We're in the process of rebuilding the hardware database we had before to be easier and better integrated , but as it will take several months the wiki is the best we have for now. You can take a look at a how-to fantomas put together here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/283218-wiki-editing-how-to/ for adding content to the wiki. Don't worry, we don't bite if it doesn't go perfect . We could also start a thread to let us add the information for users.
