MaxL,

That's called a kernel panic.

This is a problem with the default kernel that comes with the JaS DVD's. You need to get a new one. DaemonES worked for me. Post 1080 in this thread explains how to do it. BTW- There is a note concerning this in the first post.

Pablo,

Do you get that message when you run HDAPatcher or after reboot?

If you get it when running HDAPatcher, see the note above to MaxL.

If you get it when rebooting, your new kext is probobly not compatable with your system.

Boot into singleuser mode (hit F8 when you see the blinking cursor at the beginning of boot and type -s and hit enter).

Find the kext (in /System/Library/Extensions) and rename or remove it.

I have no idea how to get a working kext though.

Thank you very much MaxL by your aid, I am inexperienced in this single one I take to 3 days occupying Mac OS X

You me you would recommend the file to me that I need to be able to make work a "Conexant HD Audio" if he were so amiable

Thanks  -_-

Drag and drop a linux codec dump into AppleHDA Patcher

Some of them, can be found here: http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/

Hi there, boys & girls. At first, i want to say sorry in advance for my English - im Russian.

I have my MAC OS x86 (JaS Install DVD 10.4.8 w Semthex 8.8.1 kernel) on this HW:

ASUS P5WDG2-WS

Core 2 Duo E6300

512Mb x2 OCZ RAM

Where is a question

Mobo has an ICH7R bridge with integrated Analog Devices 1988b codec.

After OS X installation there is no audio devices in system.

In a way to fix what i've tried:

AppleAC97Audio.kext method (patching AppleIntelICHAudio.kext + AppleAD19x.kext) - can't end it up, coz i don know a Codec ID (like ADSxx) of AD1988B (spend half-night in searching on this forum & reading manuals|datasheets)

AppleAzaliaAudio.kext method - not working for me.

AppleHDA.kext method with AppleHDAPatcher - ver 1.11 do a patch, but after rebooting where is still no Audio devices in system. ver 1.15 only showin' up my Vendor & Device ID's but do nothing.

But i've some interesting info in log of ioreg, there is it:

| | +-o pci8086,27d8@1B <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 9>

| | | +-o AppleHDAController <class AppleHDAController, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7>

| | | +-o IOHDACodecDevice@0 <class IOHDACodecDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 6>

| | | +-o IOHDACodecDriver <class IOHDACodecDriver, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5>

| | | +-o IOHDACodecFunction@1 <class IOHDACodecFunction, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count $

Could anyone explain to me that is it means?

If i thinkin' in a right way - ICH7R controller is supported, but no support for AD1988b codec in system.

Thanx in advance.

Just Use Patcher V. 1.13, then Digital Out is working good. (only 2 Channels, but 44,1Khz, 48Khz and 96KHz)

I hope Multichannel and Input will come in future Releases from that Great Work of Taruga!

HI!

For all of you out there having kernel panic problems with the SEMTHEX kernel.

I'm using a sigmatel 7661 (ven 8384/dev 7661) and was experiencing kernel panics everytime I ran the patch using the semthex kernel.

Here's how I fixed it:

Change the kernel to demonES, just like post #1080 said and patched the AppleHDA using the new kernel and v1.15 patch.

Then I forgot to boot on the demonES again  and went back to semthex. everything was working fantastic.

Anyway here's my codec, hope it helps.

I've used STAC9200.txt to patch my AppleHDA.kext (Patcher v15, 14 and 13, Dell Inspiron e1505/6400), sound work, but some sounds scratching and stumming :), iTunes is ok, but sound stumming at start. Plz, anyone, who has e1505, which dump u've used or, maybe, other patcher?

Thank you Taruga for the excellent effort!

Audio Codec: STAC9274D

Mobo: Bad Axe 2

Working: 2.1 (listed as "Internal Audio")

I can't speak for the following since I don't have the gear (in my computer room) to do any additional tests...

Mic Support (unknown)

Surround Sound 5.1 or 7.1 (unknown I only have 2 speakers & woofer here)

Digital Out (unknown, my audio gear is elsewhere)

Digital In (unknown, my audio gear is elsewhere)

Oh and I patched using v1.15 and the dump from the top post on page 59...

Thanks again for all the efforts!

Dave
