Thanks bro! I have everything running perfect here with Lion DP4 except for sleep. MaLd0n is helping me out with this now so I hope to have this fixed soon. If sleep is working for you then any input would be awesome!

Is there any information on how to go about installing 10.7. Lion on this Motherboard yet?

By the way, this is my fist post EVER on any forum regarding osx86

Yes I have and it works flawlessly. Took me a half hour to figure out how to do it from a guide, and it worked perfectly. If your interested i can boot into my SL partition and get you the link.

Thing that worked OOB: Graphix-1080p dual screen

Post install:

Audio: ##### voodoohda( however the volume control on my keyboard doesn't actually control the volume)-Any help with this would be appreciated as i had the same problem in SL. Aside from that my SL build is FLAWLESS

Chameleon, Atansicethernet( or whatever it was called from SL)

#####-User DSDT install, Voodoohda, pepair perm,

AND everything works cept the sound issue above--including sleep/shutdown/restart

Specs:

asus p5qpro turbo

8gb g-skill ram

9600gt graphics

the only thing that actually really pisses me off about lion: no 3rd party trim support for ssd's

the iOS incorporation is cool if you have a trackpad

haven't done a geekbench test yet but it seems on par for speed with SL

Anyone who has info on this as well would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey guys ;)

RE: Snow Leopard & moving to Lion

…I tried ‘Empire EFI’ first, as described here: http://www.rgwoehr.com/2010/01/30/hackintosh-p5q-pro-turbo/

…It wouldn’t get to install. After trying a few other methods, I have managed to get 10.6.8 running pretty well. My builds are working, and yes, with 64bit Vanilla kernel and extensions enabled.

This is what I have found that has worked the best for me so far:

I am using the ‘nawcom ModCD’

http://blog.nawcom.com/?p=306

Then install the retail 10.6.0 .dmg.

To get 64 bit enabled, I use the Vanilla kernel from the retail disk.

I am in Australia, which I think has been part of the problem with following guides and using kexts from others. I've found that there a some variations of the P5Q Pro Turbo based on region.

...following what has worked for some others, did not worked for me, until found this guide:

http://translate.google.com.au/translate?j...wtopic%3D196436

…As for my current/preferred method so far:

1: nawcom modCD – I found has decent support for non-Gigabyte boards.

2: Retail Disc 10.6.0 – using mach_kernel boot flag to load OS X

3: After install, run combo update to 10.6.8

4: Use ##### to install DSDT & create SMBIOS.plist

5: Install kexts, make adjustments/tweaks

5: Insert kernel flags into com.apple.Boot.plist

Note: Enable ‘arch=x86_64′ into com.apple.Boot.plist, wither other flags

I have it running pretty much flawless, but I just cannot get my audio working perfect, it has been a real challenge so far.

To keep testing, I'm using ‘Supa Dupa’ to make images of my drive that i just restore back to, after I screw up the build while testing.

http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/Sup...escription.html – try it if you haven’t already.

I am happy to pass on anything if anybody needs it...

**If anyone has any advice, can point me in a better direction or pass on any kexts/tools/utilities to get my VoodooHDA audio working (good) for the VIA VT1708s on the P5Q Pro Turbo, for either Snow Leopard or Lion, I would reeeeeely appreciate it!! :D

i didn't manage to get my SATA Drives to work... only my IDE's some solution.?'

Edit: and yea do some one have a solution for VT1708S Audio Driver (Kext) because VooDooHDA worked in SL but in Lion i get Kernel Panic.!

backup ur applehda and delete it from S/L/E ,sometimes when both are present they gives KP.

need some network kext working with the p5q pro networkcard

Atheros® L1E Gigabit LAN controller kext needed

use any of these

I had exactly that same problem and hardware.

All you have to do is swap your dvi cable to another dviport or use your second display :)
