Audio and Ethernet working on my GA P35-DS4  

made a mistake during installation I did a fresh install following the step by step guide

Ethernet OK




Audio imput OK




Audio out OK




Reboot OK
Shutdown not work
Boot for hard drive OK

OS X Lion DP4 working 100% on GA P35-DS4, included Shutdown

as a final step I copy the following extensions are marked with red circle

Copy of my other installation Snow Leopard: Snow Leopard /Extra/Extensions on my New Installation of Lion on Lion/Extra/Extensions

Repair permisions on Kext Wizard

now everything works perfect

thanks for this guide tseug.  i was able to get dp4 installed w/ your guide.  my Lion install isn't 100%, bt that's probably because of hardware incompatibilities.  but at least i have a good idea of the process.

Only issues I have so far are the random KPs (not a big deal, just annoying) and no sounds so I use a USB headset instead of bothering with a sound driver. Shutdown works fine, I haven't tested sleep though. I don't use sleep normally so not a big deal.

successfuly installed osx lion dp4 on my P5K:
follow instructions, comment all ethernet/sound install in mkboot/finalize script
install lion, after install don't reboot, install IOATAFamily kext provided by dune (full SATA access)
install AttansicL1Ethernet kext for ethernet
install latest voodooHDA kext for sound
all in S/L/E

reboot, all works

Is there anyway I can get a link to a lion dmg that is not a torrent? My work place doesnt allow torrents and I have no high speed service available where my hackintosh lives :{

  * Implemented autogeneration of DSDT.aml. Should work for most motherboards similar to Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4
  * Added Java 6 auto installation on boot partition if needed (used in DSDT generation)
  * Removed DSDT reference from command line parameters. A custom DSDT.aml must now be copied to install/Extra/ before invoking the script
  * Added BootExtra directory for extra kexts used only on the boot partition

If you reinstall you shouldn't need all those extra kexts

Super simple install on GA-P55M-UD4! With a custom DSDT.aml, install went as smooth as silk, sound, graphics (Saphhire 5770 Vapor-X) and all sleep work. Excellent job! Thank you.

Great guide. Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this. SL has taken well to this machine but with Lion I'm having a problem, probably a noob problem.

Followed everything. Used a DSDT from the Creator.
All well, Can boot from USB but I dont make it as far as installation.

First I get this,




I then hang on that, until I press my power Button once, and it advances to this.




Apologies if its something simple but I've searched around. Tried removing the NullCPUPowermanagement after it said timed out, same thing. Tried -x

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

Great guide. But, to me with all the guidelines that I followed, I take the usb (I do not recognize it).

You could try removing ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext as well (although you might get a CMOS reset so be sure to save your BIOS settings).

I'm guessing it's a Sandy Bridge issue but I haven't followed the discussions and someone with an i5 got a working installation without problems.

Take a look at  Extra_MacBookPro8_1.zip in http://www.insanelym...howtopic=256729 and replace the stuff in Extra on the USB. Let me know if it works or not.

EDIT: If this is in any way daunting I can make you an install.tar.gz with the newer FakeSMC.kext. The fakesmc.kext in the current version is fairly old.

my i7 is the first revision before Sandy bridge, So I looked in the iMac 1156 zip - that correct?

Also if you believe that would help in making a new install.tar.gz, and only if you have the time. If not would I be able to just switch the FakeSMC.kext to the newer?

Try this one: (Check guide for download)

The fast way would be just to switch to the new FakeSMC.kext on the USB, as you mentioned but I'm probably going to update it anyway

Oops. I accidentally gave you the same version again so you never got the newer FakeSMC.kext

I've updated the file in the guide. That is:

v0.4 released 2011-06-15
  * Updated FakeSMC.kext
