ATA = IDE(Integrated Drive Electronics) PATA(Parallel ATA)

Serial ATA = SATA

Ok. I have three hard drives, each with an operating system. On port 2 I have a hard drive with ubuntu and I do not recognize (it appears as PATA).

Another question and stopped bothering.

In the sitem.log I get this error:

_CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35.

I tried to boot the USB drive. What I get is a black screen with a white underscore blinking. I'm using Developer Preview 3, Chameleon RC5 r875, and I'm on a G73JH.

I have no idea

Sorry

Perfect guide, thank you MaL!

If GUID Partition USB not working, you can try MBR. It works for me.

Hi,

Finally got this to work!

system: ECS G41T-M (ICH7/R), E6600@3Ghz, 4GB DDR2, WIN7/10.6.7

using mac 10.7 D2.dmg

From post #1, did the erase, restore, delete Package, then copy Package

then replace the OSInstall file, then run extra and then Chameleon-2.0-RC5-r886.

then copy fakesmc from iboot_v1.2 to S/L/E, then chown 0:0 fakesmc.*

copy m*_kernel from /Extra to / of usb.

eject and reboot. text base boot screen came up, @boot: type -v and press enter

voila! MAC OS X 10.7 LION install language select screen:

Tried a HP ProLiant ML110 server with Pentium 4 HT 3Ghz, where the language select screen should be i see a black screen, might need new kernel?

How can i make a bootable cd image with this?

I SL i made a dvd-R image 4.7G and did the usb thing on this image

then i converted the image into dvd-master (image.cdr) then burn it.

then i burn the Mac OSX Lion D3.dmg to dvd, so as to have an original.

now i have 2 dvd:

1 - original DVD lion 10.7 D3 (mac os x install ESD)

2 - modify (usb) lion on DVD (mac os x Base system)

[a few things:]

direct boot:

1.) this is alredy noted, original dvds will not boot (not a problem)

2.) modify dvd will not boot, i think is because Chameleon-2.0-RC5-r886 is use to boot usb? not sure?

##### 1.9 64:

1.) ##### sees the original dvd, and alows you to boot, but original do not have the modify OSInstall, so error message abot board.

2.) ##### can not see the modify dvd?, i will try to see if it can see the usb-lion.

3.) i am trying to find the lastedt #####, i think it's v2 or v3!

btw: ##### can see the usb-lion, but no name is under the image, and the image is of a cd-disc while ##### is a usb-hard-drive icon. and when you select it it shows a floder-icon with a "?" in it.

HELP:

what in you setup do i need to change to make a bootable iso or dvd image?

i know in windows if i have an iso image to make it bootable, i use poweriso and add the boot-info to it, via Action-Boot-add boot info, it will ack for a floppy or a file with these extensions .bif .ima .img .flp

Hi again,

I just found ##### v2.0 and tried to boot, no go.

anyone have any links to nawcom?

still...no luck :P cannot find mach_kernel... strange...

Just had the same problem but worked out the solution. Copy mach_kernel from /Volumes/Mac OS X Install ESD to the root of your USB drive. I.e. cd to the root of your USB drive and then type

cp /Vol*/*ESD/mach* .

. That should do the trick.

Alas my hard drives aren't appearing in Disk Utility once the installer's up and running. I'm guessing the (Intel) controller isn't supported yet (new SB Z68 machine). Any suggestions anyone? This is a new secondary machine that I haven't ever installed OSX on so not sure what the usual drivers needed are although it is a Gigabyte so should be the most compatible in theory.

Edit: Just worked out a solution. Changed the SATA hard drive mode from IDE to AHCI. :(

OK , almost there...my lion is up and i have few questions:

- gfx working great no problem (applying kexts)

- audio working to (kexts)

-no network! cannot find suitable kext for Marvel Yukon for 10.7

DS patch cannot work , ned to update some java but again no network...

issues:

1. after reset BIOS changed , ACHI turn to IDE need to reconfigure also boot HDD

2. after reset i cannot see the CMlion GUI to boot..always see a DOS kind of screen and then i choose the lion boot HDD, it takes about 3-4 min to boot up...how this can be changed?

on my second HD i have SL 10.6.7 running fine , how can i dual boot them with CMlion GUI? do i need to install the latest CMlion on the SL drive? will i have a faulty boot on SL after the update?

BTW , gfx and picture look much more bright and clear and nice on lion then on SL...same hw...

Hi maldon,

thanks for your help.

my HW:

CPU Q6600

MB Abit IP35 pro

GFX 8800GT

I read somewhere (for the BIOS change) that replacing the AppleRTC kext from SL to lion will fix this problem , I will do it today and let you know the results.

As for the network kexts I think that a SL kexts will be OK to Lion as well dont you think so?

As for the DSDT , until i will have network i cannot patch the DSDT as this required some java files to be update..

Thanks!

BTW , which files do you want me to send?

*update*

AppleRTC kexts did not solved the BIOS change , for the network I have replaced IONetworkingFamily kexts and now i can see both of the ethernet however I am getting wrong IP , no internet connection....

What els can be done?

UPDATE!!!!

Finally I have network working after adding the LegacyAppleYukon2 kexts ! (I'm writing within Lion now)

Also BIOS is now not changing mode to IDE...no clue how..

Do i have to add DSDT to my system?

With your apply patch i can't see my model and when i choose generic i am getting errors...

Still I can't see a CMlion GUI boot...only a DOS like list...

Thanks!
