that is simply not true! Dingguijin's Intel82566MM kext is a port of the Linux e1000e driver. hnak's AppleIntelE1000e.kext is a more current port w. a dedicated ML fix = the preferred one to use.

In addition there would be ktbos's IntelE1000e.kext (a refinement of Dingguijin's) to try ..

I successfully updated the BIOS on the same kind of unit by downloading the updater, and adding it to a Bart "Pre-Boot Environment" CD before burning the CD. Once I booted using the Bart P.E. CD, I use the interface to launch the BIOS updater I had included on it. This was a free and fairly easy way to do it.

ok i must be confusing it with another dell model (inspiron 530) i seen comes 2 revs of the board one is 100mbit other is giga

i used hp usb dos bootable tool and updated from A17 to A21

BugsB try removing the HDEF from dsdt and no voodooloader.. i had similar issues with inspiron 530 and i think that does trick.

strange the ESB2 ID 2681 did not take in dsdt when i boot shows 2922 . i think its a dynamic id per bios setting controlled in a register in dsdt or somewhere else .

with ich10 it works.. weird

also the APCI state shows S0 [S0] not s3 so theres something funny there.

I just completed setting up my Opti 755 this afternoon. I installed 10.7.4 using myHack and added some Kexts (NVEnabler64, VoodooHDA, IntelE1000e) to enable my video, sound and network and made a new serial with Champlist. The only thing giving me grief yet is that I still can't log into the Mac App Store I get the "An unknown error has occurred". Any ideas?

Chris, same here.  Driving me up a wall...  Hopefully someone can figure out why.  I am reading that the root cause is the ethernet is not showing up as built in even tho it is en0 and chameleon has

BTW I am running 10.8.1, app store login working .. I never even bothered w. Lion, being old ("obsolete"). So if you have Lion app store probs please install ML.

i think the issue might be related to network-root or something like that in a plist.

thanks for the hint - might do one day, might not ("Don't mess with a running system") .. right now I'm very happy w. my OP 755 SFF 10.8.1 and don't mind VoodooLoader at all.

You may need EFI Strings added for the card as well.

Hi, I  have too Optiplex 755
I have with C2D E6400, Nvidia 210 GT, and use 10.8.3,(Clover) but I have some problems:
After turning off the fan continues to run. Also in the log there is an error.
ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - WARNING - LPC device initialization failed: C-state power management not initialized
I use  dsdt from osx latitude), but with own DSDT I have "still waiting root device"
Anyone can help solve this problem?
