Can I ask a question?
Now I got 10.6 Retail almost working (still troubleshooting audio and video card atm) using the Chamrc5installer.pkg
If I'll upgrade to 10.6.4 with combo update, do I need to redo the Chameleon installer package setup or something else?? Or do it still keep working?
i'm not able to understand this because every Boot installation method looks like different from each other. Someone upgraded without nothing more to do and some other need to redo boot and config once again.
Wish i went not OT. if so, notice me so i clean the post.
And everyone... excuse my english, I'm so rusty with it atm!!
Once again, thanks for your great project!
Daniele

Does your PC needs 32 Bit Kernelflag to boot ? If you used much older chameleon, check if you also changed 32 Bit kernelflag to arch=i386 insted of very old -x32 flag.
Also good to know it you had run the PC before the update of chameleon with sucess or its the first install.
Also check you smbios for corruption if it freezes in that section.

No, you don't need to reinstall the Chameleon again after combo update from 10.6 to 10.6.4

Why do you emulate a MacBookPro2,1 ?
Maybe the problem is this. Test MacBookPro5,1

The system not to be loaded, in com.apple.boot.plist costs arch=i386
Chameleon_2.0_RC5_r513 It only put
With Acerbln and a simple chameleon normally to be loaded
Now I will start to reinstall system

Yep, blackosx posts and threads are informative, well written, helpful, easy to follow and there're also links in his threads to other helpful threads.

Yes i totally aggree.
I'm figuring now how to move and the kexts i need to download before to do the update.
I was, at end, able to make my sound and video work (all than video resolution change) and I'm scared about breaking all at this point. But I will not resist...
I already know I'll fall in a sleeplessness week-end!!
Cheers

Thx scrax...
but... no luck
Have you find a way using packagemaker to use external info text like "localizable.strings"
In the official package (from voodoo team) there isn't that problem the "external" file is well managed and look like accept the line b...
I also find a problem (My limited knowlege in that package program)...
How manage the choice?
Is there a way to auto exclude a choice?
Example:
In the options if you select can also select and boot0 boot0hfs,
would be possible to exclude a selected depending on whether the other?
In the installer "official" (if I'm not mistaken) uses a Java function, I tried to reproduce it, but without success.
Fabio

Guys, please help I have number of questions regarding the meaning of the following phrases:
1. "Install Chameleon to EFI System partition FAT32 (Original)"
What does it means? Install Chameleon to an EFI partition? And what FAT32 has to do with it?
2. "Install Chameleon to EFI System partition HFS (Reformatted if not already HFS)"
WUT???
3. "The theme thats embedded inside the booter, included here for you to customise."
I hope it's suppose to be customize not customise.
4. "Install default SMBIOS overrides smbios.plist into Extra"
Does it means: install default SMBIOS to override the smbios.plist file in Extra?
5. "IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector_description" = "";
Should we add any description to this one, or leave it without description?
6. "Disabler_title" = "Disabler";
"Disabler_description" = "Disable AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.";
I hope it's suppose to be NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and not Disabler.kext...
Thanks.

1. EFI partition is a type of FAT file system. (more info) In this case the EFI file system stays untouched.
2. EFI partition is formatted to hfs+, original method.
3. just a typo. (or not, as pointed by TorqueX86)
4. this shouldn't be done at all, in my opinion! Chameleon already includes default values on the code. The supplied smbios.plist is just an example.
5. yep, agree.
6. NullCPUPowerManagement.kext is not supplied with Chameleon and just disables AICPM.kext.
Disabler.kext, if edited properly can disable any kext (i think!?) including AICPM.kext, the only one blocked by the Disabler.kext supplied with Chameleon. This should be replaced in the future by a "kext blacklist" module and an entry on Boot.plist to specify the kext personalities to blacklist

ok I post the rev 515 is the same binaries from the trunk 513.
- Add Arabic language (thx to Mohamed Khairy) I need feedback! I use the language code ar I hope is fine
- Add the option to save the bin file used to a folder inside the Extra folder (idea from iRipper)
- Add (but empy for now Graphics mode) for com.apple.Boot.plist) This option is working in progress no use for now

I know it's a small island somewhere in a region called Europe, but in England people say "customise" and still get decent grades at school.
Mind you, so they do also in Australia, and in other unknown countries around the world.

Thanks Azimutz!
Now everything makes sense, almost)
4. Agree, this step should be reconsidered.
5. If i write a description then everyone else should write the same description too, leaving it empty won't look good.
6. Disabler.kext in an obsolete file from back in the pre-SL days imho, NullCPU sounds like a better idea. And the "kext blacklist" sounds like a much better idea)
