Hi,

I'm searching a fast picture viewer. All I found are still not available as universal binaries and run slow with rosetta.

I tried:

-iView

-GraphicConverter

-CocoViewX

-Slides!

-ViewIt

I think all of them where o.k. if compiled for x86.

What are you using to view pictures (apart of "preview" and iPhoto)?

i've owned a mac for more then a year and i never found an imageviewer which was so simple and fast like compupic or acdsee for windows. All imageviewers for mac want you to import things first. I hate that. I just want to go to a directory and the imageviewer makes thumbnails of the directory and i can view the images fullscreen. The only client you have is acdsee for mac, a very old piece of software.

I just prefer iPhoto, (or picasa on win32) personally. I never liked irfanview, although my coworkers do.

Other than that, GraphicConverter or Photoshop (which has a browse mode in it when looking at directories). To each his/her own.

Hi, please read my posting. I know GraphicConverter, but it is still a ppc only app and really slow on my system. I'm searching a fast picture viewer. This must be an universal app. Does anybody know a picture viewer that is an universal app or x86 native?

iPhoto works ok, but has no browsing mode.

try ffview

FView is a fast OpenGL-powered picture viewer a la ACDsee. It is aimed at letting you read manga or other comics onscreen (in either windowed or fullscreen mode). Its features include fast prefetching, smooth panning, voice commands, the ability to browse pictures inside archives (.rar/.cbr, .zip/.cbz) and persistent per-picture options.
