A little clarification from the lurvely folks at parallels:

Parallels Workstation virtualizes VGA and SVGA with VESA 3.0 support video card. This allows you to run any 2D graphic application inside guest OS. Direct3D support is in scope for future versions of Parallels Workstation.

So If you're looking to run your older games, I'd say go for it. Just stay away from anything requiring 3d acceleration and let us know how it goes.

Starcraft plays nicely in parallels, which actually is good since the OS X version of Starcraft doesn't work...

Worms World Party doesn't work (why?).

Half Life should be ok if played in Software Mode (ugly, but better than nothing...)

Minesweeper is very fast. :P

Just to sum things up:

SO anything that is Win 98 or less will run really well under Parallels

Nope.

Anything that requires an accelerated Video Card will not work in Parallels.

If 3D rendering can be done in Software Mode (for example all Unreal Tournament including the last 2004 has the Software Mode) it's allright but it will be hell slow.

Every 2D game should be fine.
