it'll be nice if someone can post the detail on how to install Snow Leopard on a PC. Or how different it is, if any, compared to installing Leopard 10.5. Would the Boot 123 scheme still work? Will we need a newer EFI than EFI 9? At least then when 10.6 hits the store we all will be ready.

Regards

"but a few apps didn't and HDA audio requires a new 64-bit driver for the Hackintosh."

Is there a 64 hda driver out there?

I hear VoodooHDA works well.

<br /><br />SL.dmg + boot-132 + SLboot = INSTALL<br /><br /><a href="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113288" target="_blank">http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113288</a>

Note: SLBoot file is PC EFI 9.4 for SL 10A354. Should work on other builds too.

I know the Boot 123 method but the guide doesnt cover the parts of SL.For example all i know is you boot from Boot123 cd and then you insert the retail DVD BUT where does the SLBoot file (PC EFI) comes to? How and when do i use it.

It seems that It's not the one demoed during the Keynote :

No QuickTime X new Logo (doens't really matter)

No Dock Exposé

No nicely aligned "exposed windows" in Exposé

No Quicklook in "exposed windows" ;)

Yep same here...

This sucks...

I guess $29 is for an upgrade disc & the installer will check the prior install. Wonder if it will also check the hardware

If it checks, does that mean we have to install leopard first and install snow leopard if the system is totally down and need a full restore? I don't think that's gonna happen.

You do know that the "About this Mac' window is more then easy to be edited and show whatever the user wants...

It will be more believable if you show apps run in 64 bit from activity monitor...

Fine, want some more proof?

Mach Kernel 6.0:

64 bit processes in Activity Monitor:

My 9500GT running with NVdarwin (hoping to get my 4870X2 working soon):

And just some more sys profiler info:

Happy now? :)

I installed pcefic9 final 2 and substitued boot with the modified boot from the previous pages, added dsmos (x64) in Extra and my dsdt.aml functional in leo and I got a panic. Any ideas?

I've tried with an ati 2600pro & a nvidia 7300LE with its EFI string at com.apple.Boot.plist

EDIT: Nevermind I misread what I quoted. sorry!

Make sure you have Disabler.kext as well if you don't already have it, and any other kexts you would normally have to boot Leopard.
