MikeHunt79
I've tried searching but it doesn't appear anyone here is using these cards... I'm going with a fanless system, and this card only uses between 10W to 40W so is ideal, and isn't far off a 8800gt when it comes to 3d. The 4850 is overkill for me and gets too hot. Right now I'm using a 7800gt and it works great in OSX, dual screens, QE/QI and everything. I'm using EFI strings for this. If I upgrade to an ATi 4670, can I still use dual screens or are the drivers not up to scratch yet?
cyclonefr
I think they don't, specially if they are using the same core as 4850/4870 series.
MikeHunt79
:censored2: Ok then, I'll soldier on with the 7800GT for now, I did hear about more GFX card drivers being released with 10.5.6? Is this true?
Synaesthesia
It might be. The 48xx series is supposed to be coming eventually. (I'm guessing when Apple updates Mac Pro + iMac lineup The nVidia G94 cards recently started working - 9600GT. There's hope.

khitomer
My 4670 works abeit at a fixed resolution on iPCOSX86 setup. Would still hope fro proper drivers at some point so I can enable quartz etc. iLife 09 works apart from iMovie because of the lack of quartz. Surely one of the other drivers could be used? What about going to ATI's website and downloading the 48xx source for Linux, I know that OS X is based on BSD and Linux drivers work on FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and NetBSD. So if it is possible how would you go about compiling them for OS X? Please anyone help with this.

guest048
Is 46xx working in Snow Leopard? I think not because someone would extract kexts like they have done with 48xx. Apple will never support 46xx because there will be new cards out soon and they will focus on them. I will buy nVidia next time.
