collit99
I have tried it in my Acer Aspire 4720z and only the internal mic is showing in the preferences. The headphone/internal speakers switching works fine. Thanks for the effort. if you still have the old applehda with working external mic you can send it to me and i'll look at it. Unforutnately sound is till low volume when waking from sleep, yet only on the headphone out... Speakers have normal volume level after waking from sleep... AtomOSX
if you still have the old applehda with working external mic you can send it to me and i'll look at it. My external mic never worked. I hoped that yours would sove the problem. But at least we have a very good progress with the automatic output switch. I have one question. Are you editing the controller plist or the platform plist ? Also the HDA in the plugins directory don't have the platform kext.

Damn.x
Can you write a short install guide for ALC268, please? I have Internal Speakers working and I see the automatic switch between Internal Speakers and Headphone but I have no sound on Headphone. Why can I not completely mute the sound? what kext are you using? I used the AppleHDA.kext of the MadTux_ALC268_A.zip from the first post, installed with KextHelper b7. Is there a working kext for the acer aspire one with working auto-switch, internal speakers, headphone and audio-in? Microphone is not so important for me. markpenn
Hi, New AppleHDA kext with Internal/External MIC, still no mute but I'm working on it. Based on ALC268Installer2. Credit goes to Taruga and Madtux! Auto switching and Shutdown(Without using HDAFIX v3) should work. Works on my Acer Aspire 4310. Still needs HDAEnabler. Damn.x
with this ..I have lound sounds/noise the mins the osx is logged in.. ? It's the noise from the internal mic, I have this too. The only thing (for this moment) you can do is to turn the volume from the internal mic to 0%. Try the one on my signature... Oh sorry, I used the one from MadTux_collit99_ALC268_B.zip. I think it must be the same as in the alc268_january08.zip by Taruga. Tommorow I will try your one. Can I overwrite the existing AppleHDA.kext with Kext Helper or do I have to delete the old first and then install the new? On a new installation of mac os x, is it important to install the ALC268 Installer (1, 2 or 5?) first and after this the AppleHDA.kext or can I directly replace the patched AppleHDA.kext? Do you know a difference between ALC268 Installer 1, 2 or 5? What's with HDAEnabler.kext, is it required anymore? Can you write a very short step-by-step guide for this ALC268 installation, please? collit99
with this ..I have lound sounds/noise the mins the osx is logged in.. ? KextHelper do automatic backup of kext that is being replaced. ckybam69
why does the alc861-vd not work on toshiba laptops? is it because of the problem where in linux its alc861-vd and in vista its alc862 on toshiba laptops? also i tried making a dump from the ubuntu live cd and i only get like 5 lines of text: Codec: Generic 11c1 ID 1040 Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x11c11040 Subsystem Id: 0x11790001 Revision Id: 0x100200 Modem Function Group: 0x1 i am on toshiba satellite a135-s2266 laptop. i get sound from the speakers and i have volume control but no headphones ore mic. any ideas on what i can do to get this working? Damn.x
On new OSX just install the attached HDAEnabler and the AppleHDA(in my sig) using KextHelper or OSX86Tools, repair permission using Disk Utility and reboot. You don't need to install any of those ALC268 Installer. Great work! This works very good on aspire one but I found 2 errors: 1. I can't turn the volume of audio-in down. That means, I have the input volume set to 0% but it plays the input signal with the same volume and quality as the input source. When I push the volume slider only a bit from left (0%) to right (100%) the sound will get louder, has a noise on it and it distort the audio quality. The noise appears also when there is no input source connected. I think when the input volume is set to 0%, the input signal is 100% and when the input volume is set to 100%, it's 200% or more of the input signal. 2. The audio-in signal runs on internal mic, not on internal speakers. I mean that's the reason why the mic will not work correctly. If I'm wrong with the second point, for what are the internal speakers on input? Can you fix this, please? It would be very great to have an almost full working ALC268 driver. the light guy
On a Lenovo 3000 N100 Model 0768-E5U funning Leo4all 10.5.2, only MTux_ALC861VD_Leo.zip works. The beta supports input but not output. The chipset in question is identified by Lenovo as an ALC862 although that may just be a different naming convention. Let me know if you want any dumps - I'm quad-booting Ubuntu 8, OSX 10.5.2, Vista x86 and FreeBSD 7 - so I can give you pretty much anything.
