Support for : LAN + Sound + Geforce + ICH9R + Jmicron (not tested)

Hi!
I'd be very much interested in the above specified file, but I'm afraid it is no more possible to download it from rapidshare. Can you re-upload it somewhere, please?

Thx,
H

updated Dell_Inspiron_6400/9400_ISO with Nvidia/sound/ support + GUI: http://www.mediafire...php?3mvzghmwym0

Hello, I've come here as this is the only specific modification of Boot-132 I can find, but I am trying to put Snow Leopard on my 9400.

Do you have any advice for me? Thanks.

Hi all,
I'm pretty new to this, please be nice ;)

I'm trying to install OS X 10.5.4 or 10.5.6 (I have both, I'm not fussy) with the Boot-132 method.
I've tried generic.iso, boot-kabyl-bumby.iso and several others. Almost all show the grey Apple-logo and spinner screen, then show a blue screen (the same blue behind the Mac OS login screen) but get no further. Certain boot-132's, the keyboard and mouse still respond, certain ones not.

I'm using a Lenovo X60 Tablet. It's Intel Core Duo L2500 (1.83GHz, dual core), supports SSE3. 4GB RAM. Intel 945 chipset & GMA950 graphics. I've had an (almost) fully-working Kalyway install, so I think boot-132 should be possible ;)

Would anyone be able to tell me what ISO to try? Some people have mentioned getting retail to work on an X60 but not given details - just let me know ;)

Cheers,
H

I made a BOOT-132- it allows you to boot the Mac OS X installation in VESA graphics mode. So, you can install even with an unsupported graphics card. I didn't see a disc like this before, so I made one because I needed it. Anyway, here is the ISO file: http://www.mediafire...mmo/boot132.iso
EDIT: Make sure to boot the DVD with -x otherwise it won't boot with VESA.

Great work!
I'm installing with 10.5.4 - it seems I'm going to have to mod it to include fakeSMC:
google.co.uk/search?q=fakesmc+site:netkas.org
but I seem to have got further than I've done with any other boot-132.
FYI, I'm on an IBM Thinkpad X60 tablet.

Well, lets try to make a thread compiling different ISO, INITRD or EXTRA folders made by users who want to share them.
Even if it's not "on demand", you can request for one but be very precise about your Motherboard/Computer, maybe somebody already done it.

If you wish to upload your precious, just few tips to follow:
- State what is the Motherboard/computer targeted
- Enumerate kexts provided
- Describe what is not working.

To make your Own ISO:
1- Galaxy's slimbuilt: http://forum.insanel...howtopic=129834
2- SuperHai method: http://forum.insanel...mp;#entry803725
3- HMBT Auto-Patch for edit image: (Beta) http://homepage.mac....c/CDBoot_RC2.sh

- Remove/Add/modify desired kexts
- Repair permissions:
sudo chmod -R 755 path-to-destination-folder
sudo chown -R root:wheel path-to-destination-folder
- Create new Extensions.mkext:
sudo kextcache -a i386 -m path-to-New-Extensions.mkext/Extensions.mkext path-to-destination-folder

I could never get the Boot-132 working, even tho I bought Leopard.  I was successful in installing iPC 10.5.x on my Dell Optiplex 745 MT.  I have a 8500GT video card so it works fine, but no sound/ethernet.  3 questions:

1)  Which ISO of Boot-132 did you use to install Retail Leopard?
2)  What drivers did you use to get your sound & networking working?
3)  If available, can someone post them here or post the link?

Thanx in advance....

*** Update Aug 08th, 2009 *** updating to 10.5.8 works out of the box, no matter if you use the combo updater or the built-in auto update, but I also experienced an issue with running dual monitors (see below in Notes section)

*** Update June 15th, 2009 *** now with 10.5.7 flavor

Boot 132 CD's for Gigabyte EP35-DS3

Gigabyte EP35-DS3 Specifications
  • Intel P35 / ICH9 Chipset / 7.1 Audio (ALC889A)
Complete specifications here

What's so special with this Gigabyte Board?
  • Intel P35 chipset
  • supports sleep out of the box
  • ethernet works out of the box
  • vanilla kernel runs flawless
  • requires very few patches to make compatible to Apple's specs (AHCI patch and ALC 889a Audio only)
  • very cheap!

What's new with these Boot 132 disks as of June 2009?
  • NOW improved for Leopard 10.5.7 (and also works with 10.5.8 without issues)
  • NEW AHCI support for ICH9 and ICH10 included w/ orange drive icons fix (thx chamelon team and netkas)
  • NEW Wi-Fi support for lots of third party Wi-Fi cards with Broadcom 43xx chips (like Buffalo AirStation WLI2-PCI-G54S) (thx macsmart)
  • NEW and legacy kext for AppleHDA.kext in 10.5.7++ - means native support, no kernel panics (thx tmongkol)
  • NEW no installation crashes in user mode with EA Games' Spore or ADOBE Creative Suite 2
  • NEW Time Machine via 3rd party Firewire PCI card
  • NEW 100% EPOS I. compliant.
  • NEW AppleTyMCEDriver.kext native support (means natively disabled by unsuccesful probing ;-) so no kernel panics because system runs as "myMek" not as "MacPro4,1" anymore (thx to netkas)

Notes
  • 100% SlimBuild-Preboot compliant (find SlimBuild Creator here)
  • Support for ATI graphic cards (Netkas' Natit for Radeon HD 38702, 3870, 3850 , 2600pro, 2600XT)
  • Support for nVIDIA graphic cards (Natit, taken from Sonotone's image, tested with Gigaybyte GeForce 7600GT)
  • Psystar's OpenHaltRestart.kext included
  • Psystar's AppleDecrypt.kext (some people say it is faster than dsmos.kext)
  • Sleep/Reboot/Vanilla all working like a charm***
  • *** well there are issues if you are using two monitors (two displays, two tft, whatever), sleep will not work then! Until now I could not determine if this is a hackintosh phenomenon resulting from Netkas' video drivers that I am using or if this is an Apple issue (there are threads on the Apple forum discussing dual screen issues aswell, see here.)

BIOS Settings:
  • Required: Integrated Peripherals -> SATA AHCI Mode => ENABLED (!)
  • this has to be enabled now to circumvent "still waiting for root device" (thanx 2 nameless2k)
Known issues:
  • static IP required for ethernet adapter, DHCP works, but after sleep, ethernet is broken, simply do a manual configuration, not manual DHCP configuration
  • Legacy Audio is supported from 10.5.2 upwards, if using 10.5.0 or 10.5.1 Retail Install DVD you will not have sound in the welcome intro after first reboot!
Recommendations for a better life without hassle
  • Install Leopard with ONLY the DVD Drive and the harddisk connected
  • Disconnect all other drives while installation
  • Get a Leopard RETAIL copy from a store. There are some mislabled copies of Leopard (like 10.5.4) on the net that will NOT work, although REAL retail 10.5.4 does.
  • If anything doesn't work (like installation issues) try to repair disk permissions first (Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility.app -> repair disk permissions) and then try again
  • take a whole harddisk for Leo, don't fool around with different operating systems on one harddrive, this 50$ harddrive is an investment into hassle free and time saving installations, believe me and millions of other insanelymac folks...
DownloadsFeedback about experiences and issues much appreciated :-)

I appreciate modifications to support the rest of the Gigabyte boards (like EP35-DS3R, EP35-DS3L, EP45-DSxyz and so on). Included mkext can easily be unpacked using this simple command:
mkextunpack -d /path/to/unpack/the/kexts /source/of/Extensions.mkext

Enjoy the summer sunshine, Snow Kitty is coming :(

I'm using the slimbuild for nvidia cards and  have a very similar setup:

q6600

ep35-ds3, rev 2.1, f2 bios

nvidia 7800gt

sata dvd & hd

when I swap in the retail leopard disk it starts loading, then halts right before it loads the kernel.

any advice?

I have tried all the ISO posted on the link.
Either I get the spinning ball or I get a Msg saying cant install OS X on this computer.
My setup
Dell XpS M1530 Intel with Nvida.
I have the original disc that comes with a new Mac.
I can run disk util and see all my drives. It detects the right Nvida Chip, detects the hard disk in Sata or AHCI mode.

Can somebody post an ISO for the M1530

A bit of a catch-22 situation.

I want to build a boot disc for my Gigabyte EP45-DS3R and ATI HD3870-x2 graphics card. Slimbuild sees to be the tool for the job, problem is it needs a MAC OS, which is what I'm trying to build, which is what I need the boot disc for.

The question is - How do I build a boot disc so that I can build my first ever MAC system, without needing a MAC system in the first place?

I'm very new here, and I have no Unix programming background (though given good directions I'm not afraid to edit code if I have to, so long as I'm editing a copy and still have the original saved on different media).  I am interested in building my own machine, and have been gifted with an Intel (I think) Super X5DPA-TGM system board, dual Xeon processors and 2Gb of RAM installed.  Based on what I've seen from reading much of this topic no one has attempted this board before.  The board says it is Rev 1.01, and it has an AMIBIOS 786Q copyrighted in 2000.  It has 5 PCI slots, PS-2 and USB, appears to have ethernet on the board as well as video and DB9 serial, 2 IDE controllers and a floppy controller.  There is what appears to be a VRAM slot, but it is empty.

Since I'm a total newby at this, I am looking for the files I would need to install OS X Leopard 10.5.  I will not be ready to do this for a time, since I don't yet have a case, power supply, or DVD drive for it.  I will likely want to get a PCI video card since I don't know if the on-board video will work (it's ATI RageXL according to the graphics chip), and I may have to invest in a SATA card since I keep seeing posts that indicate IDE or EIDE (UltraATA) drives don't appear to work (though I have a 120Gb IDE Seagate drive that came with the board, if there's a way to get it working).  Since I know there are Mac Pro machines out there that Apple built with dual Xeons, I think it would be interesting to have a similar machine for far less than the cost of a Mac Pro.

Any suggestions or instructions would be greatly appreciated, and I will try to repay what I learn here in some fashion going forward.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

New GA-X38-DS5 Boot-123 CD Image including DSDT. No more Bios settings corruption.
Only thing which does not work with 10.6.8 is Audio. I gave up on the internal Audio and use an USB Audio Thumb which works out of the Box.

Please replace the Link on the first post. Thanks.
