Tablet Wars: who can shake Apple's dominance?

Ed

tablet-warsWhilst Apple may still be the minority desktop computing platform, since the launch of its iPad this year it has dominated the tablet market and taken no prisoners.

A major survey conducted by consumer shopping site VoucherCodes.co.uk has revealed some interesting insights into what we look for in a tablet device - a few highlights include:

  • Dell and RIM have the largest amount of public trust in their tablet after Apple.
  • For just a $160 saving, over a third of the market would move away from Apple.
  • Every age demographic indicated they wanted the device most for instant access to the web, suggesting clever tie ups with networks could win the battle outright.
  • Older demographics indicated the highest interest in purchasing a Tablet Device.
  • Women value Price whereas men value Breadth and Quality of Features as the factors most likely to influence their purchase of a tablet device.

Nobody can shake apple at this moment. The devices which been currently available are scrap. The developer(i mean more the managers) releasing very fast semi-finished devices. Mainly they have that {censored} on the market.

Except Galaxy Tab but this is not the same liga. It is too small.

Look at this situation from another side - maybe users will choose not between devices, but between OS's? Don't you think?

Nowadays, ALL manufacturers have devices and mobile phones which looks like iPhones. But, they are running another OS's. As far as I know, Android OS is now veeery popular, and there are enough iPhone look like devices which are running Android, so, I'm pretty sure, this is war of OS's, not of tablets.

i disagree, its is not just a war of the OS's and the reason i would say that is because the hardware matters. The reason why people dont by the cheap android tablets.. hardware maters and an good hardware vendor could give apple a run for it money.
