When I connect to my FTP site with Finder's "Go->Connect to Server" option, it will only give me Read Only rights. However, if I just FTP from a terminal, I get full access. If I use a third-party app, like Cyberduck, I also get full access.

Is there some special reason for this? The remote server is a Windows server using the built-in FTP service.

FTP in Finder is read-only. Considering the many connection options, using a third-party client isn't really a bad thing.

Is there any way to make Finder allow full FTP?

I have the same problem, and would love a fix. ;)

macfuse

and

macfusion

should change that read-only behaviour for you.

core-component: macfuse

gui-component (optional): macfusion

moreover, many additional plugins exist for macfuse to enhance its functionality.
