bob12345
I am dling leopard right now and i have a few questions. Is there a high risk of apple finding out i have it on my comp? if they do find out what are they going to do about it. and 3 is it more dangerous to install leopard than tiger (is it easier to get caught) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91567-risk/ Share on other sites
S.SubZero
Judging by these forums, do you really think there's a risk? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91567-risk/#findComment-653197 Share on other sites

vaporATX
As long as you don't start selling MacPro clones out of your garage I doubt you have much to worry about. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91567-risk/#findComment-653212 Share on other sites
Korrupted
To date, no osx86 users have been sued or arrested as far as I know, so Apple has probably given up at this point since we make up such a minority, anyway. ~pcwiz
As long as you don't start selling MacPro clones out of your garage I doubt you have much to worry about. BTW did you hear about that Asian site that was selling "PowerMac G6"? They were basically hackintosh PowerMac clones loaded with OSx86 and some other pirated stuff. Read here for the specs: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=199791 They're not selling it anymore but I found some pics http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?at...mp;d=1147293019 http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?at...mp;d=1147293039 http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?at...mp;d=1147293030 LOL Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91567-risk/#findComment-653219 Share on other sites

Headrush69
thanks for the info guys. it makes me feel a lot less... evil about this. You're still evil. Only a few people have been caught and they only got 50 lashes and a year in the hole! vaporATX
They knock you out with a chloroform soaked black turtle neck, put you on a macrobiotic diet, and force you to listen to Bob Dylan until beg for a .22 to the back of the head. That's what they did to me, hence my username, but in my new reincarnated body I still installed OS X on my PC again! S.SubZero
thanks for the info guys. it makes me feel a lot less... evil about this. You want to feel less evil? - Many people on this forum who used a Hackintosh ended up buying Macs anyway. - Hackintosh is a great way to learn OS X, which is not a bad bullet point on a resume. - Apple software for Windows is SCARY. I use Hackintosh for iTunes so I can move music to/from my iPod. My recommendation: If you find yourself using OS X on a daily basis for daily things, put "Visit Apple Store" on a sticky note somewhere. If it's something you just break out once a while when you're sick of looking at Windows, go buy an iPod. vaporATX
I don't feel evil because Apple doesn't make the machine I want to buy. I don't want an all it one, Mini doesn't have enough horsepower, and I refuse to dump $3000+ on a workstation that is more than I need. Until Apple comes out with something headless between the iMac and the MacPro they will not get my money for anything but lappies. bob12345
i guess shelling out the $400 to get an iphone raised my apple karma enough for me to not feel guilty. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91567-risk/#findComment-654552 Share on other sites
