sorry for my bad english, I'm German :)

i'm also getting a kernel panic! I have installed zephyroth amd efi 10.5.2.

My specs

MOB: ASUS A8N-SLI PREMIUM

CPU: AMD (64) X2 4200+

RAM: 2GB Dual-Channel 400Mhz Corsair

GPU: NVIDIA 7800GTX

installed on SATA drive with GUID. Everything worked fine. But after I installed XCode 3.0 from my original (for Apple Computers) Mac OS X Leopard DVD, it freezed at the end of the installation (i think the setup assistant was installing CHUD or sth. like that). So i rebooted my PC and got a Kernel Panic.

With Safe Boot (-x) Mac OS X boots successfully but I don't know how to uninstall an unfinished XCode 3.0 Installation?

thanks in advance

I have the same problem, but can't find chud-uninstaller in /Developer. From terminal chud<tab> returns only chudRemoteCtrl. :(

EDIT: Found it, for future reference if anyone else is experiencing the same problem the file is located here:

/Developer/Applications/Performance Tools/Hardware/CHUD/CHUD Remover

I believe that's correct, Mac removed the folder completely but I think it's correct.

I tried installing Xcode 3.1.3 last night with the default options selected. During the installation, the kernel panicked when the CHUD install was just starting.

Just now, I installed Xcode without the "System Tools" option, which includes CHUD. The process completed as desired, and the CHUD folder referenced above never got created. Xcode will launch, but I haven't tested any other features.

The Computer Hardware Understanding Developer (CHUD) Tools are probably specific to Intel processors. I'm on an AMD-based machine, as I note some of you are, as well. If you can live without CHUD, you should be OK if you disable "System Tools" in the installer.
