Colonel Badger
Two questions. I'm running iAtkos 10.5.1 SSE 2 1. Do I need to first upgrade to 10.5.2 using the Kalyway combo update before installing this kernel? 2. How do I install this kernel? (Never installed a kernel in OSX before, are there instructions included?). I looked at kext helper (someone suggested to look at that on netkas.org), but this seems to only be for kext installation. Confused! Mark. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87651-1052-speedstep-kernel-amdintelsse2sse3/#findComment-623989 Share on other sites

Ok, so is it just as simple as doing the following (after backing up my old kernel) sudo cp ~/mach_92 /mach_kernel and repairing any permissions? Two questions.I'm running iAtkos 10.5.1 SSE 21. drumthrasher109
Alright I have the ToH Leo 10.5 (9A581) with the Darwin 9.0.0 kernel, how do I get this updated so I can install 10.5.2? Colonel Badger
Alright I have the ToH Leo 10.5 (9A581) with the Darwin 9.0.0 kernel, how do I get this updated so I can install 10.5.2? My question too. It's not clear to me whether we need to upgrade the rest of OsX to 10.5.2 (Using Kalyways 10.5.2_Hack_Combo) or whether I can simply install this 10.5.2 kernel on my 10.5.1 iAtkos build without it. metalchaos
Is there a way to make this work without the speedstep app? Because it keeps crashing if it's in auto mode. And without it : 2/14/08 10:58:05 PM kernel ACPICPUThrottle: Throttle failed with cur_status=0xd2c, want_status=0x0! 2/14/08 10:58:05 PM kernel ACPICPUThrottle: No valid CPUs returned by ACPI! It's possible your BIOS does not think your system should be throttled and therefore did not return any available power states, or maybe your CPU only supports one other power state than maximum which is below 1Ghz! Is there a new version? because the one I have is from june 2007 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87651-1052-speedstep-kernel-amdintelsse2sse3/#findComment-624478 Share on other sites

mlazy
Would love to use this, but I'm on 9.22 vanilla w/10.5.2. When I use the Kernel from this pkg(9.2.0), I lose usb hotplug capability. Anyone know of a solve? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87651-1052-speedstep-kernel-amdintelsse2sse3/#findComment-710076 Share on other sites
Antipas
@mlazy Check that the kernel and the system.kext are the same version. Look into the Info.plist of system.kext and try to find a matching version. @all My machine crashes with kernel panic too when running on battery and supposedly automatic mode.
