Hi,

I tried diffirent releases, Kalyway tiger(dunno the exact version number) iaktos 1.4i, iaktos tiger(1.0?). First tried Iaktos tiger in vmware, i managed to start the installation but after the installation is complete it reboots and then i get cpu disabled error.

Then i tried with all 3 to boot from dvd and install native, but i get a error: Apple.com.boot.plist not found.

I heard this problem is related to Jmicron controllers. Is there a way to get a release installed on Jmicron, and what release?

Specs:

C2D e4500

Asus P5B

Hitachi SATA drive

Nvidia XFX 8600GTxxx

Thanks in advance, my father has a apple and i love the operating system and would be very happy if i could run it too :P

Hi, i also have MSI P965 Neo mobo with *!@‘# jmicron controller. In 10.5.1 HCL on here some jmicron controller included mobos have succesfuly worked with sole tweakings. Check this out for your mobo. And you should use a SATA DVD reader/writer in order to install it. USB DVD doesn't work and gives /com.apple.boot.plist error. Just unplug all IDE drives from your controllers like IDE hdds and optic drives (yes you must have a sata hdd too, ide is not recognized) usb keyboard and mouse (ps2 doesn't work either during installation) and an install dvd type compatible with your mobo like Kalyway or Iatkos (mine is Kalyway).

I will buy a SATA dvd asap and try installing this is my last hope to get rid of /com.apple..... error or i will replace my mobo with a compatible one.

Good luck to you. Keep your fingers crossed :)

Try setting your JMicron to IDE mode for the install. After install set it to AHCI. That works on my Gigabyte P35-DQ6 for Tiger installs (XxX and JAS). If I leave it in AHCI mode I get the com.Apple.boot.plist not found error.

I got the same problem on my ASUS P5B with JMicron Controller... but in my case I can't even boot either from Kalyway, iatkos and xXx tiger DVD.

I set the sata controller to IDE but I always get the error "/com.apple.boot.plist can't find" when boot from DVD. When I disable it, my DVD drive wont recognize and disappear from boot list.

I tried to use other DVDRAM (Asus and LiteOn) but it don't want boot up still...... hiks hiks hiks :D

Spek:

ASUS P5B

C2D E4500

Seagate SATA 250Gb

GF 7300GT

2Gb DDR2

Samsung DVDRAM

I have the same problem with '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found when trying to boot from the IDE DVD drive on a Asus P5K Motherboard (because of the Jmicron controller I presume).

I have tried nearly all settings in the BIOS but still no dice. Annoying because I :P *really* want to try this out...

Is it possible to use an USB/FW stick or drive as install medium? I have searched in vain for info on that but no luck there either (other than it seems that USB is a no no for install).

I understand that there is a way to insert modules into the installation ISO (which could help maybe?) but the shellscript seems to rely on me having an OS X install already handy which I don't. :P

Does anyone have any tips where to start? I would be eternally grateful even for a hint on where to start looking and happily write up my experiences here -to be kept for posterity- should I succeed. :D

Thanks (and *bump ;) ),

-RG.

HW list (if that matters):

MB: Asus P5K

CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600

DVD: HP 640 DVD-RW

RAM:2Gb Corsair DDR2 6400 Twinsomething.

Video: Nvidia 256 Mb GeForce 7600 GT in a PCI-E slot.

I used one of the patches for the Leo4All release and it worked just great on my IDE Lite-on DVD drive and my 500GB SATA drive

I'm glad to read your success too :D I also released a patch for the ages old JaS 10.4.8. So 3 releases are 'fixed' already.
