ozzie123
If I'm not mistaken, Dual Core is designed to be used for a mobile computing right (lower voltage per performance etc)? If I can choose, I'll go with AMD instead because for desktop, they have more computing power than Intel Dual Core. He's talking about Pentium D (technically dual-core Pentium 4, but there's no 4 in it, actually). Wesley....... your correct, the website i got the detials from says pentium d, but when i clicked on it, it said (P4) lol, but yea ok, Pentium D...but would be better for a Real IntelMac, since it is dualcore, and availbull to the public, where you as of yet cant buy Intel CoreDuo as oem / boxed but are being shiped in some laptops etc, and that ship with intelmac's Ben Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8593-the-dream-pcmac-setup/#findComment-53367 Share on other sites
munky
your choice of graphics card is a little misguided, given there are no nVidia drivers working yet. i've just built a machine based around a Pentium D 920 (dual core, 2.8Ghz, 2Mb cache per core). i've ordered an ATI Radeon X1800XL 256Mb which should be arriving today (hopefully!), which means i'll be getting close to your spec. i'll let you know how it runs EDIT: it runs k-sweet! Careless
if i were to get a system for MacOSX usage and PC usage at the same time through dual booting, i would get the system in Careless's signature.
