en2??

if you computer as a build in ethernet card -> it's en0

iwi3945 must be en1

some computers without this settings may fail testing iwi3945

in os x 10.4 there's a file for network setup in library/prefrences - delete it

can someone test latest iwi2200 from svn

if iwi2200 don't work with this changes i'll abandom iwidarwin project

i'm shore it is working

TNW,

can you test the driver?

Thnx for your help,

my ethernet card = en0

the library/preferences file is also there in Leopard. It's correct that when you delete

that file, all the network settings will be set to standard  :)

I'm trying it now...

I figured out how to reset the en0/1/2 settings..

In Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration is a file named NetworkInterfaces.plist

When you delete this and reboot, your settings will be back to default. Now my Intel Wireless card is en1 :)

Jalavoui I'll test the 2200 drivers when i get to school. I wanna see if the hidden network ESSID thing is fixed. And thanks for fixing the permissions thing (well i hope it did haven't tried it yet).

I'll let yeah know asap hopefully with some logs k.

Thanks

Strange...

On boot with -v I get an other kernel panic. It scans so fast and often for networks on boot I couldn't count it, but after a while it gives the kp. Here's the picture:

DSC00016.jpg

Edit: An other strange thing...

If I install the kext in /extensions I got the KP showed above.

When I load it manually with -s I get the same KP like earlier when my intel wireless 3945 wasn't en1

Weird...

im willing to chip in to get this guy a laptop sell it and get the dough back...this is way over my head im just waiting for a patch or quick download and boom it works currently i got a usb card my lan isnt working and the wireless isnt either...dv1660se hp BTW...this back and forth is crazy but somewhat effective...but again a laptop for javouli would be better in my opinion

it think so too! javouli should get himself a paypal account, then everbody who needs ipw3945 could send him 10 $ or so, this way he should raise enough money to buy a cheap laptop with an ipw3945!? ;)

i would love to help, but can't test at work...hopefully at the weekend...

Hello,

Build 748 is here: http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/files/iwi3945r748.dmg

Jalavoui, I'm having trouble committing to svn. I'll send you a pm with the details.

Please make sure you use the 748 build from above. When the dmg mounts on your desktop, it will say iwi3945r748. If not, It's an old version.

@the_painless: I couldn't agree more, Jalavoui needs donations. His email is on the homepage of the project for paypal purposes.

System Log after pkg install, but before reboot:

syslog.txt

System Log re-boot:

syslog_BSOD.txt

Hope this can help..

Followed most of the steps and solutions people have been posting for rev748

Still some problems:

networkselector still shows

Could not get ID for kernel control. 2
logout

whenever I run it, including when i delete Networkinterfaces.plist, en0, en2, etc.

When I try to kextload through the terminal: sudo kextload /system/library/extensions/iwi3945.kext

I get:

kextload: cannot resolve dependencies for kernel extensions /system/library/extensions/iwi3945.kext
error loading extensions /system/library/extensions/iwi3945.kext

I've also tried this after loading the kext with Kext Helper b7

This is a fresh install of Kalyway 10.5.2 on a Toshiba Satellite

Hey all,

Manual kextload results were fine for me. unplugged enet, here's log:

748syslog.txt

fired up network selector, got a freeze before syslog caught it, but had my handy dandy phone to catch the screen. It was scanning!

On reboot after install test, got freeze at boot like most. kexloadng may be the best method to get good logs at the moment?

Hats off to The_Painless for supporting Jalavoui's efforts!!!!

Alright well I lied lol. I can't test the new 2200 drivers today. Left my AC Power cable home today and for some frickn reason my laptop won't boot unless i have it plugged in to AC. Weird i know. It works off battery AFTER it boots but it won't boot unless its got all AC powering it. {censored}. Anyone know of a fix for this? I did the powermanagement.kext fix and it works but didn't fix that. Oh well.

Running IBM ThinkPad T43

Thanks

I have the same issue with my Vaio.. how frustrating is that?!!!! It's one of the only "bugs" I've got these days. Let me know if you ever find a solve.

i have the exact same laptop as you! There are only 3 problems of running leopard on it. The wifi, the qe/co support and the stupid battery thing. Let me know if you get a fix for any of these!

iwi3945

driver status:

the only good log was mlazy panic log

it shows the driver scanning - like it supose to do

i have no idea where the panic is

question:

is there a way to boot in mac os x 10.5 with option -s and let mac os x load iwi3945.kext auto?

in os x 10.4 all it takes is:

boot with -s

type sh /etc/rc

this is important because if you try to load iwi3945.kext manually it will fail

if iwi3945.kext don't autoload in -s mode i'll never figure out where the panic is

i've put in svn iwi3945.dmg build from mlazy - sames as posted before. the link is in iwidarwin main page

has anyone using 10.4 - i'd like to see the logs from it

rubinho93,

your log is also fine - if the driver boots ok - there's no way to figure it out
