odessamarin
Hello, I have MINI-PCI 2200BG Wi-Fi in my ThinkPad T30. It works well with last stable and beta drv version. I have no problem to connect to my WEP PROTECTED Wi-Fi router. So, i press connect and it ask me for key. I have to insert the key every reboot. No way to have auto-reconnection every boot. But, I have one Q to ask. Some times my system is just crash. In a way, it's suddenly freeze. No cursor movement, no error massage. It just freeze. Only way to switch it off, keep OFF button for a while. I don't know is it from Wi-Fi or what. Did somebody have similar experience? It's really difficult to say what could be a problem. Just to know, if it some common issue or not. Thank you. FurmanSK
Hey odessamarin I just experienced the same problem with mine on a IBM T43 ThinkPad. So far the driver works pretty good. Only suggestion i would make is making an option to connect to hidden SSID's like at my university they have wireless but i can't connect to it because its hidden and the driver doesn't see it. Anyway to make this option available? And i'd be happy to help in anyway. Sorry jalavoui forgot to include what card i have and driver i'm using. Card is Intel Pro Wireless 2200b/g Driver is the latest for 10.5 2200 So is there anyway to do this? I tried getting my IP and other information in WinXP then inputting it into the ethnet in network for the wireless card and turned off then on again and didn't work. Thanks. tzp2
Hi, I'm new to the OSx86 scene and I am having a little trouble getting my Intell 2200 BG wireless card working on my Kalyway 10.5.2 Hackintosh. Other than this and no battery meter the computer works perfectly. I browsed this forum for a while and found the .dmg package that could be used to install the card, every time I installed the package though my OSx86 machine would not boot. It would only show the BSOD (Black Screen of Death) that asked me to restart. I believe whenever the card turns on my computer crashes and the installer was automatically turning the card on making a boot loop. So I found manual instructions on this page using the pieces of the package. I took the ktext and put it in ktext helper and it ran the easy intall. I also put Igui and Network Selector in the applications folder. Finally I restarted and ran -f and -v.When I opened my Network settings I found that the computer had detected a new option and I created it. I did not mess with any of the settings not setting anything manually. I assume this was my wireless card but I did note that there are now two Ethernet options in the Network Settings. Then I tried to turn on the wireless card via Network Selector. After putting in 1 the program would hang. On a restart of the program I would type 1 and it would turn on the card but then I would get the BSOD and need to restart. Performing this process again had the same effect. If I loaded up only Igui and tried to turn on the card the computer will hang and the program will crash. If I am fast enough after using Network Selector I can log into Igui and the card is on but not long enough to detect any networks. Can anyone help me with this issue? Is there something I am missing? What should I do now? odessamarin
Yeah likt It's only happened once today. I left it there for a few mins and then tried to move the mouse and it just sat there didn't respond. I dont know if it has anything to do with the drivers but just experienced it. We getting closer.. now I switched 2200 off within driver menu, and connect my ThinkPad to the internet by wire build-in ethernet. And live it downloading staff all the night. And guess what? No crash! It still alive. So I'm more concern about driver. Today will put my Dlink USB dangle. Maybe developers could advice some older version or something that we could try to do? What about WEP, could be a case of this freezing? It's strange, cose otherwise driver work very well, just this crash from time to time..
