guille0301 Posted March 5, 2008 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Hi, 1st post here, hope it helps me a bit i've got this hardware: DualCore Intel Pentium D 915, 2800 MHz (14 x 200) NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE (512 MB) WDC WD1600BB-56RDA0 (149 GB, IDE) PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D Gigabyte P35-DS3L (plus its onboard LAN & SOUND) 1x 1Gb Kingston 9905316-005.A04LF (DDR2, 667) TP-LINK Wireless USB adapter TRYing to run: iATKOS v1.0i Tried first to install following the guide, but in a Samsung 37gb IDE --> USB Drive (Notebook HD in a carrying case) but it rebooted my computer as soon as the Darwin bootloader ended the countdown then, followed my instincts installing it on my HD in a 56 gb partition (Mac Journaled format) didnt find any options on GUID or MBR it installed smoothly in about 10 minutes, rebooted (i shut the power down while rebooting berfore POST to avoid unexpected glithces) and after Darwin countdown ended, the gracious gray apple appeared, 1 sec later, a gray screen dropped down (same effect as old Win95 shutdown dialog) and said that i needed to reboot... i did it, over and over, waiting for some times, but never loads up... i installed it without touching nothing on "customize" during install, but same effect.... if I try to follow the guide, the DVD boots, but i cant update packages, only clean install over existing one... any thoughts would be appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83762-how-togigabyte-ga-p35-ds3l-100-working/page/3/#findComment-655495 Share on other sites More sharing options...

I hoped it would recognize itself. No bigee though It turns out the problem isn't USB 2.0 but slow disk speeds in general. Xbench shos ~3.0MBps. Makes it impossibly slow to do a lot of things. Pittty , great compatibility for the price... Anyway bought a Asus P5K, hope this one holds longer..(no lan yet on leo). What seems to be working for me right now is that I go into network settings-->advanced and click on renew DHCP server. It gets the internet working again. I am connected through a netgear router. If you get it to work through this driver set please let me know. pylonman Posted June 1, 2008 Share Posted June 1, 2008 I am using the RealtekR1000 kext to get Bounjour working and now, after waking from sleep I have to manually renew the DHCP lease. Anyone else have this issue? DHCP still works fine after sleep, I just have to go to system preferences and renew the lease. I'm using the ethernet that came with my P35-DS3R board Has anyone found a fix? bpeugh Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 The Kalyway 10.5.3 update works off of Kalyway 10.5.2. You will have to reinstall the video and audio kexts and SMBIOS if you do not like theirs. I have not been able to get sleep/restart/shut down to work yet though. weaksauce12 Posted June 19, 2008 Share Posted June 19, 2008 I'm having a quirk with Ethernet on my DS3L: 1) If I install Kalyway 10.5.2 and a Realtek driver, put the computer to Sleep, and then Wake it up, the IP address is lost. I have to manually reset the IP. It works, it's just annoying to do every time. 2) If I install Kalyway 10.5.2 and no Network driver, then it doesn't see my AFP shares - no iTunes, no AFP server, nada. A combination of the two would be ideal...anyone had complete success with Ethernet on the DS3L yet? What I have: Hardware: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Rev 2.0 Core 2 Quad Q6600 Optiarc DVD RW AD-7203S 2x WD5000AACS 500Gb SATA drives (no RAID currently) HDP725050GLA360 500Gb SATA drive (main) XFX Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 256Mb 2x 2Gb DDR-800 cm2x2048-8500c5d Corsair memory modules Linksys WMP300N PCI Wi-Fi N card 1920x1080 native SyncMaster P2350 Old USB Apple keyboard USB2Radio Logitech mouse Noname Bluetooth that works, actually Thermaltake 500W power supply Software: Leopard Retail DVD Boot-132 Boot CD (was downloaded from here, the date I guess was 11/21/2008 (could find it only through shared files on mediafire, weaksauce12 does not have a working link) as a consequence.. chameleon 1.0.11 some kexts preinstalled with boot 132 cd 10.5.8 Combo update custom ALC888 kext (preinstalled did not work) as far as i remenber NVinject (natit did not work) Problems: - hackintosh is slow on graphics (sluggish whatever i do, like there is a graphic delay of 0.2-0.5sec each 3-5 seconds (can’t trace it through activity monitor). It is not dependent on processes that I have or am I playing a bdrip or just moving a mouse, there is just a lag). What can it be? Can show you anything, just tell high resolution works only on 1 port from nvidia (including color profiles etc) - guess that’s normal - may be a solution? - if it wakes up (not from sleep, just from monitor of I see a noise sometimes (3-15sec, cures with switching monitor off and on again sometimes) lots of software minor issues like partly working google toolbar, steam, disks do not eject from time to time etc What bothers me mostly is this sluggishness. Any solutions? Including my kexts dir for you to review.
