Hi guys!

Im having a problem to install the iATKOS 1.0i on my Intel Centrino Duo ® Core™2 Duo 64-Bit T7250 2 x 2.0Ghz (Santa Rosa), 2GB DDRII Memory, 512MB MXM Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT VRAM...

I Boot with the DVD and when comes the F8 screen from Darwin, i push f8, type -v and w8, thats when he loads lots of things and stops @ Extension "com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use ony one style and then locks up after that with a small white square...

I tried rebooting and using the -x but what happens is that starts the gray screen with the apple logo and the loading, and remains like that forever... i try to turn the scroll lock or num lock on to see if is proper locked and it is, doenst change anything..

Any Help? anyone with the same prob?

For me, the problem occurs on boot of the Install DVD. So I cant even get into the Install loader and install the actual OS. I've tried it with iATKOS and Kalyway and ToH. None of them work. I've done searching on google and quite a few people have had this problem, but no solution is ever listed.

My specs are:

2.4 ghz core 2 duo

Intel mobo ICH8

Nvidia 8600M

Azalia Sound Card

According to my specs, I would think the install would be a snap. Does someone have some idea on how I can fix this? Please!!

If you want to remove the dependencies error you have to remove one of the lines from the Info.plist file in the kext that offends. But usually this is not the problem in your setup. Which line to remove you have to find out. (So commenting out is the better option so you can add it back in case it wont work)

that means you have a hacked version of ACPI kext

vanilla ACPI has only 3 plugins kext extensions included

if you have anothe ACPI kext there are 4 or five plugin extensions that not even work i suppose

if you are using EFI you should use the stock vanilla kext and add PS2Nub and PS2Controller kexts for PS2

and PowerManagement.bundle with ACPIPowerSource.kext for battery meter

This isn't a problem. Its just a warning. It can be safely ignored knowing that any problems you experience are not related to it.

If it really bothers you just edit the plist for the offending kext and remove the kpi reference.

well from what i have read this is where many users comps are hanging at. some users have managed to get it isntalled and ran into this problem on first boot while some like me cant even get to the installation. on a iatkos install for me it hangs on this at install. in a kalyway install the install works fine for me but on first boot i hang at this point which is really strange. from what i know so far there is something wrong with the AppleACPIPlatform.kext file. finding out what the problem is is something i have to leave up to ppl like Netkas as i have no coding or programming skills. i wish we could get a definitve answer to this problem

I have given you a definitive answer. If you want the proof boot the system using these options:

-v debug=0x00000102 io=0x00200004

This is from the darwin bootloader.

What you see last on the screen is not always the last thing that has started (best example is all the people complaining about mDNS problems). The boot process is asynchronous and when most kexts hang they often have no output on the screen. That means the last thing you see has no relevance to the error that actually occured. By using the debug options I have provided you can see what the kernel has attempted to start.

Using Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD. Tried diabling multi core support, enable ATA, disble virtualisation support.

Still same result, everytime kernal panics and the last log points to ACPI

Tried from http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=126377

because i want to try the install in my second laptop presario 2500, so i've tried kalyway 10.5.2, iatkos v4 before, but as it was suggested in the topic i've just mention, for this laptop only aitkos V1 IR2 will work.

However i get the exact same error of atotaj1 with this distro. I don't know how to solve it. Does anyone has an idea.

Dense if you are there can you explain how to do this, please.
