EFI Emulation / Orange port / Kernel Panic / AHCI / GA-965P-DS3 / iAtkos / BIOS

Hi. If I use iAtko's EFI emulation as bootloader with the original/vanilla Leopard kernel (no other options checked), it installs but when I boot the hardisk, it just reboots to the POST. If I install the EFI emulation bootloader, check the two options excluding the vanilla Leopard kernel (no other options checked) and boot it, I get a kernel panic as soon as Leopard tries to load- it doesn't even get to the gray Apple Logo. If I use the OSX86 bootloader with no other options checked, it boots upto the desktop just fine.

Using the GA-965-DS3 (rev. 1.0) board. Assuming EFI emulation only has an issue with processor compatibilty (and has no problems with the northbridge, southbridge nor the controller manufacturer), what's the perfect BIOS setting for installing iAtkos 1.0ir2? Should it be in the orange port or purple port (for this mb). Should AHCI be enabled (the first on in the BIOS) or RAID/IDE (the line below this menu in the BIOS) plus AHCI or both AHCI should be enabled before installing? Thanks in advance.

Same here, under a P5B, tried installing about 10 times now.

Cant tell what it is, seems kalyway's method might work though.

I do have an existing P5B install using the leopard patch method, but its not EFI and has some networking problems...

doesnt seem to be related to the video card, doesnt seem to be related to networking either, nor the SATA driver present in the iAtkos DVD, tried AppleSMBIOS.kext without any luck either.

Im trying without the stock kernel now... fingers crossed

I have the 965-DS3 mobo also and I installed using Kalyway 10.5.1 using the GUID EFI (HD is formatted GUID) and Vanilla Kernel options and it works just fine. I have all my IDE ports set to IDE mode (not AHCI) and they all show up (both orange ICH8R and purple Jmicron sets).

I recommend getting the Kalyway DVD and using it. The only thing I had to do was patch the Audio with the HDA patcher, 3-port option. SATA DVD and 500GB SATA boot drive plugged into ICH8R ports.
