Sweet, thanks, that fixed the Broadcom 440 Ethernet issue. Now I don't have to at least sit within the lenght of my firewire cable and bother with enabling file sharing from my PC or Mac mini, though it works quite alright. Yeah, now I wish we could get support for the 2200BG or 2915ABG wireless cards, and it'd be great. They are broadcom chipset like the Apple Airport Extreme so I dont see whats the big deal. I have both available to me, so whichever has support first, i'll use. And the X300 support is very important. After that, we'd have a totally bitchin' platform for OS X 86. What I did with mine, is to disable the LCD expansion in the bios, so the display is smaller at 1024x768, but at least its not stretched, and pixels are displayed correctly. Works out to about 13" area, so slightly bigger than a 12" iBook or PowerBook. At least I can work with it this way, I can't stand stretched & out of aspect ratio {censored} on LCDs. mr_christer Posted March 15, 2006 Share Posted March 15, 2006 I'm really satisfied with my OsX86 install now, it runs smooth and qe/ci gave a whole new feeling to it! I also have inspiron 6000 with x300. But one thing is still strange... my current 10.4.5 install is kind of buggy. sometimes when i open system profiler (for example by clicking on ATA) or disc utility it just hangs and i have to completely switch off to get it back to work. once it even happened by just using iphoto.. do u guys think this is due to emultation? does anyone else experience that? I would also like to use airport so I thought about getting the truemobile that osxgus mentioned... But since I have bluetooth installed I'm not sure if I still have pcie slot free. Can somebody help mme out with that? Does anyone know if there are already cards out with the new 125 Mbit/s standart. It would be cool not just to replace a working windows card but instead also get an upgrade for the current system.. I know a lot of questions, but perhaps someone has a minute for that. thanks! Same e-net cable works fine in xp.
