idividebyzero
Is there a way to tell the temps of your cpu on a hackintosh? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/78558-temp-monitor/ Share on other sites
idividebyzero
Nobody has ever in their entire life checked the CPU temperature in OS X on a PC? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/78558-temp-monitor/#findComment-557588 Share on other sites
vassalle
http://www.bresink.de/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html don't think it's that accurate though. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/78558-temp-monitor/#findComment-557644 Share on other sites

idividebyzero
Thanks that worked, it seems its running a little hot like I figured (the fan kept revving up a little, which it does when it gets to 50c). 48 and 50c in OSX instead of the 39 and 40c in Vista. curveball692
I contacted the author of this software regarding an issue I was having (his software reported CPU temps in low 30's C, BIOS was at 50C). His reply to me was: Temperature Monitor is designed to work with Macintosh computers only.It will not work correctly with processor types not used by Apple, sothe BIOS output is correct.I'm hoping I can find some other temperature monitor software that will accurately work with my setup. Goron
using that, too with Kalyway. Seems quiet correct. 26-29° idle and 40-45° with full cpu load. Don´t know Windows temps as i never used it at home, but temps within Linux where almost the same .... BAF
Temperature discrepencies between the program and the bios can also be the cause of reading different temperature sensors. If the BIOS reads sensors on the motherboard while the program reads the on-die temperature sensors, of course the program will report a higher temperature than the BIOS, and vice versa.
