optimusp
I know that when using 10.4.x, installing apples automatic updates would undoubtedly break one's system. However, I was wondering if this is still true with 10.5.1? How about if I use the vanilla kernel? Thanks! scj312
It's not changed in Leopard per se, but mostly fixed with PC EFI. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/78502-apple-updates-still-bad/#findComment-555950 Share on other sites
Donw35
I have been able to apply updates from the apple website, the one that caused isses and required pre and post patching was the 10.5.1 update but most are using the 10.5.1 patched DVD's now. I wouldn't say its safe, I wait and see what others experience with it as well. I also have a spare 80 gig drive that I try them out on to see if it blows up my OS, don't want to spend alot of time re building an OS if I don't need too. Korrupted
In my system, I've been able to run all of Apple's Software updates flawlessly so far, so for me, it's safe/good to run Software Update.
