macgirl
My PowerBook 12" runs very hot since 10.2.4 or .5 but when I boot with an extenal Disk it runs cooler since the internal disk is not used much. Azurael
Which PowerBook do you have? The Rev. A 12" G4 is famous for it's nuclear-reactor-like heat output under 10.3, and constant fan noise under subsequent OS versions, and the later 12" G4s weren't much better. I never noticed my 15" running particularly hot unless it was under heavy graphics load. In fact, the left fan on my 15" was buggered for a long time, and the right one only comes on at 60c (?), and even then it never ran particularly hot or suffered any stability issues. macgirl
Don't now which rev it is, I left it at home. but I gues is the "A", it is the 867Mhz version no Mini DVI. Yes, the graphics card runs very hot too (Temperature Monitor says it) even with Animated GIFs on webpages. I never suffered for stability issues either. But I still love the damn thing Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/78474-powerbook-g4-very-hot/#findComment-565578 Share on other sites
