SAS Controllers w/ EFI for Mac OS X / OSx86 Solutions

Yes. And i must correct myself! NOW This HBA is fully bootable under any Mac Pro! I just flashed lsisasebc.rom (v. from EFI BSD package for LSI SAS 3081E-R from LSI page.

SAS Controllers w/ EFI for Mac OS X / OSx86 Solutions

I have a SAS MPT Family Controller: IBM BR10i (rebranded LSI 3082E-R): Working from 10.4 to 10.8.3 OOB. Not bootable on my Mac Pro because of 64-bit EFI (i have 32-bit) but fully bootable at PCs.
  3. What is this?? " PCIMatchedFamily" - no such string in Info.plist...
  4. This is UUID for the User account, not related to Hardware UUID.
  5. Today installed Gigabyte HD 6870 (into MacPro2,1 with Mac OS X 10.8.2 with Chameleon): Sala: 608 Luxball:6661 Room: 293
  6. ATI Radeon HD 4870 Mac Edition, Mac OS X 10.8.2: Sala: 202 Luxball: 1999 Room: 112

Original Mac Pro 1,1+Legacy 64 bit mode+DSDT fixes

Thanks for the great fixes, but yet there is still some problems: 1) Intel ESB2 AHCI controller reported as Intel ICH7-M AHCI controller... not correct. 2) SATA Disks showed with Orange icons like it External HDs. Else there is a problem with reporting native videocard like ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series instead of ATI Radeon HD 4870, but this is other story... How to fix Controller reporting and changing external to internal type disks?? UPDATE: Code for SATA must be: Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x02) { "device-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x81, 0x26, 0x00, 0x00 } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } Now System Profiler reports Intel ESB2 AHCI and Icons of SATA Drive now normal.
  8. I have a Card LSI SAS 3082E-R also called "SR-BR10i". It fully recognized OOB in Mac OS X. Attached drives are mounted... But no boot from card. It has a chip LSI SAS1068E which is used in Apple Xserve... And also card seems supports EFI. What i can do to get it bootable?

    TRIM for Third-Party SSD!

    10.6.7 and 10.7

    TRIM for Third-Party SSD!

It works. For me as minimum. Checked with hdparm method from linux. On linux trim is turned off by default.

    TRIM for Third-Party SSD!

Joy my mac friends! Today, from Russia and Germany, there is a discovery of how to enable TRIM Support for third-party SSD. Simply rename APPLE SSD in IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext binary to the first 9 symbols of the your SSD name with spaces if presented, but no more than 9 positions in HEX. And remember some things: 1) You need IOAHCIFamiliy.kext from 10J3210. 2) Always rebuild the Kernel Extensions cache. 3) Repair Permissions. Reboot and Enjoy! And there is a more detailed info. armdn - is me. :wink2:

    TRIM for Third-Party SSD!

So, now we know that TRIM is hardcoded in IOAHCIBlockStorage, со does any one know how to hack this driver, to expand support for non-Apple SSDs ??
  13. srv=1 - have it in Boot OSX of RAID-0 massive under 10.6.6 Server. Still clue what it is.. But can you see it on a Standard Client version in /Volumes/Boot\ OSX/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist . Boot OSX is a boot partition disk0s3 in dev.
