AMWN
Hi there, Because of problems with the Jas patch, (me and a bunch of others) I patched the 8f1111 version myself with the patches of maxxuss. See this tread: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=7183 Now I can boot up, but then I gotta install my USB keyboard. My mouse and Keyboard aint working. In the JAS patch, there is a patch for ps2 keyboard/mouse/trackball... But can't find a patch myself to patch my own patched ISO. :S USB mouse, USB keyboard, ps2 touchpad and ps2 keyboard ain't working right now... When I plug in my usb keyboard, it does work (I think) but can't click to the next step because mouse doesn't work. What is the best thing to do? Do I have to make some adjustments to my dvdiso? What can I do? I have an (notebook) Inspiron 6000, 1.4 ghz celeron, atix300...

Theios
I think I can help with this one. I have an MS Keyboard w/ fingerprint reader and wireless mouse. I had the same problem, Mouse would work until I plugged the keyboard in, then the mouse would keep jumping to 0,0 coordinates. I fought it for about a day, then just cleared my kext cache and it worked fine after a reboot. I've talked to a few people who have had the same problems, and it seems to work most of the time. Hope it helps Open terminal sudo -s enter your password kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions/ reboot system if it doesn't help, reply back, I'm sure we can figure something out. *Edit* Sorry, I didn't read all of your posts, didn't realize you were stuck in installation. ajhuddy
Thanks for the reply, but... I can't open 'terminal' when the keyboard and mouse don't work. The annoying thing is that both worked when performing the installation (e.g. for selecting install options, etc.) I think I can help with this one. cab
Tried both methods posted above to fix keyboard and touchpad, with no luck. I can't find that kext anywhere in my system so i haven't had luck with that method for that reason. Did the kextcache but didn't work either! Any other additional info would be great! Jynx
the 4.2b patch says it removes applefpmemdriver.kext and the other kext I forget its name... But it doesn't seem to work. I use a wireless keyboard/mouse combo from MS and it would not work beyond the initial install. I had to use software to view the MAC partition on my PC and manually remove those files. Then it worked fine when I booted up OSX.
