mac_cute
Some new news from the front:When I tried to boot with -x -v platform=X86Pc i got screen to plug my keyboard, and when tried to boot with -s to go to console it stops on that error: ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure. So I'm gonna to do this what you wrote (what utils I need?) but I'm thinking how to solve this problems above (is there any kext for it?) Thanks for advice. Try this first: >Reboot from the disc >Open terminal > Type "cp -Rf /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext /Volumes/"Name of your Hard Drive"/System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext" >Save and close terminal >Reboot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/79/#findComment-589303 Share on other sites
GingerTea
Hi everyone, longtime lurker, first time poster. I recently downloaded this CD and followed the guide referenced here to try to install it. It would install properly but would not boot up. After playing around with settings I've gotten stuck. I've tried everything in the guide but nothing has worked. The /usr/misc/script.sh the guide says to try to execute is not present so that's the only option I haven't tried. http://osx.kbot.de/comments.php?Discussion...;page=1#Item_10 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/79/#findComment-589325 Share on other sites
7eventh
with that attitude you won't get help around here or on other forums Actually I don t think that it is meant that way .. but, to be honest, its REALLY HARD to find an answer in a 98 pages long thread that deals with nearly all issues that can happen with the V1 installation. cgsheen
Thanks cgsheen for the response. osx86 is installed on an external hd, with Vista & Linux on the internal. MB: ASUS A8M2N-LA (NodusM3-GL8E) Processor: AMD Athlon 64x2 3800+ (958 MB RAM) Chipset: nVidia GeForce 6150 LE Network Adapter: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller Disk Drive: WD 1600JB External USB Device Disk Drive: WD20 00JS-60NCB1 SCSI Disk Device I'm going to try a clean install and will zero out the partition. I was hoping not to have to after getting so close but I've been at if for four days -can't give up now! Definately disable the "nForce networking controller" in the BIOS. Work on that after you get the OS up and running (or get a cheap Realtek RTL8139 or 8169 PCI card). canuckistani
@Dirk: you *can* get it to work, you just might find yourself doing some strange things. After lurking here and picking away at my problems I have an almost 100% working system. Hardware: A8N-SLI AMD 4600+ X2 BFG 512MB 7950GT SATA Drives External Hardware: Saffire Firewire sound card, various USB midi controllers Process: - installed Zeph's disc Rev a on a partition on a SATA drive, used Grub => Chainloader to boot into OSX - got around reg loop by creating a dummy account on my macBook and importing that over firewire in FW target disk mode. I ave a Ti chipset firewire card in the machine, PCI card. it 'just works' - installed DOS on a spare PATA drive to flash my video bios! probably the most painful bit... Result: - almost everything works: QE/CI, Read-only access to NTFS partitions, my favourite audio apps - ableton live works best if I disable multi-cpu support - logic audio is a bit fidgety - my TC Powercore PCI card does not work at all, but that may well be a general Leopard issue. Dirk Gently
Holy Balls of Happiness!
