Josh25
First of all thank to everyone who has helped get this dvd install working well, Its running great on my desktop and I even have full hardware graphic support thanks to the NVinject installers But just for kicks and giggles, what does the "system=X86PC" boot flag really do? Im not using it, but was wondering if I should or not? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/60/#findComment-565518 Share on other sites
7eventh
But now I'm stuck with the create-account-freeze bug. Any news about that (without installing tiger in the first place)? It helped (on my machine) to boot again into the DVD get a console and delete all NVidia-stuff (NV* and GeF*) under /Volumes/Leopard/System/Library/Extensions/ After that I could create an account, boot into Leopard and install the appropriate kexts. Perhaps this helps Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/60/#findComment-565530 Share on other sites

Josh25
Ok, Last two questions: (besides not knowing what the "system=x86pc" boot flag does) 1. I cant seem to find the Mach Reboot fixer page, I checked the wiki and it said it was in this forum somewhere? (not too big of a deal, i just need to manually resart the computer instead of osx doing it for me) 2. Can I install the Security Update 2007-009 from the "Software Updates" menu in Leopard? (I have installed everything else program wise (itunes,quicktime...) but not the Security one yet? Just wondering if anyone else has with no problems, I have Leopard running nice and fast, and dont want to take any chances right now. Thanks everyone. g1g010
I successfully installed Leopard and now I'm stuck at the Account Creation menu. Whenever I create an account it will load forever. I've seen some people talking about thiss issue earlier in this topic but I didn't find any way to fix it. I have no previous OSX installation so I can't recover an older account. BartNijland
Just wanted to report here that IT WORKED! First time I installed this Leopard, it just didn't boot, and I got the please insert disc bla bla bla What I did: 1) Installed UpHuck v1.4a (ONLY mac os x 10.4.9) 2) Installed Leopard 10.5.1 AMD Got to the bootloader, loaded but gave a kernel panic. 3) Booted with -x (and yeeh, it worked!) 4) Installed the ATI X1900XT driver, and removed GeForce.kext 5) Removed -v and - legacy And there we go System seemed very verryyy slow, so I googled a little bit and found at that it is pretty normal that the system is slow when you update from tiger to leopard. So removed everything, installed leopard again, and still, same problem, no boot menu.. Then I read somwhere that you need to active your partion. So I booted from the dvd, got into the terminal and typed: fdisk -e /dev/rdiskx update f x w q reboot Now I that Darwin bootloader showed up. Still had to boot with -x and remove the GeForce.kext to avoid a kernel panic. Hope this helps some people that can only boot from the dvd, or don't see the darwin bootloader show up Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/60/#findComment-565992 Share on other sites
