Keyboard, mouse and trackpad work (thanks to ApplePCINUB.kext)

I ve also installed HDA Patcher and i will see when i will reboot

Well, I deleted it. You are missing the color depth, which you probably want as 32 bits per pixel. Try "1680x1050x32". And I believe Kalyway's CD doesn't support GUID. Once you run Kalyway's CD, it uses MBR by default. Did you try i_am...me's method for GUID?

Here's my suggestion. If you already replaced AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext with stock one (I told you about this), you don't need the booting option. Since you want it in the booting option, I believe you didn't try the stock kext. I would try the stock kext first and see if the video is actually capable of that resolution on your monitor. And regarding i_am...me's method. Of course it works. If you are willing to format your hard for GUID, then with his second method (it helps if you read the guide to the end), which requires BrazilMac patched DVD and empty HDD, you can install GUID on your HDD. But before do that, I also suggest try whole lot of different things to get your system perfectly working, make notes, then start over for clean installation on GUID.

The system works because the processor is working, i simply have no display ...

Do I have to reinstall my kext ?? Or doing something else ...???

I would install *one by one* stock kexts (while you backup the native ones) that you installed on v10.5.0 to beat this blue and black screen before (you are the one who asked this question before) to see which kexts fix the problem. Then except those kexts, roll back the process, i.e. restore the original ones. I did that for my keyboard/trackpad. I know it's pain in the but it seems like whenever update is available you will likely have this blue and black screen again. So I would figure it out now. If you don't care, install whatever you did before. --S

heres what i did in single user mode

 

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

cp -R /path/to/brazil/version/AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

 

then rebooted and still no resolution options.

Can someone tell me,. which case/powersupply needs to be purchased for this setup?

I am using my old black microATX case from ASUS. Since the motherboard is microATX, any ATX/microATX case should work. In my case, power consuming parts are the motherboard, one HDD, one DVD, and one PCI. I have no problem with 250W for them. If you use more HDD or nice graphics card, you need more power of course. Anyway, a black mini tower case with at least 400W would be my choice. --S

Hello, everyone.

 

My eyesight is not good and I cannot take the VGA anymore. I'd like to have a DVI output but the motherboard doesn't have one. Would you recommend any good graphics card for Leopard Hackintosh? I don't do games. It would be nice if it's an nvidia 8000 series but then it is not supported yet as far as I know. If the power consumption for this card is low, that's super. It can take up to 300W.

1. Format hard drive using Kalyway

2. Install Leopard using BrazilMac

3. USB stick - kexts (dsmos + AppleSMBIOS) + PC EFI 5.2

4. Sound Patch, Time Machine Patch, Macdotnub's experimental 8800 installer (320mb option)

5. Download 10.5.1

 

Everything works except for Mic Input on the motherboard (get a USB Mic or USB Sound Card if you require Mic). Score is 160+ on Xbench. 100% stable, incredibly fast and powerful. I'll be posting a more detailed guide later this week along with a Bad Axe 2 driver package...replicant has already successfully used it (see his post above).

My eyesight is not good and I cannot take the VGA anymore. I'd like to have a DVI output but the motherboard doesn't have one. Would you recommend any good graphics card for Leopard Hackintosh? well after a days use i thought id chime in and say you can add me to the list of happy installs with this setup!

 

i ran tiger on my older pc and it was a pain in the ass, with many features not working. this is totally different. ive replaced 2 kext files and installed one package. everything is working.

 

using pc_efi v8 with applesmbios from v8 as well

onboard gma950 ci/qe with resolutions = use AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext from BrazilMac patch, repair permissions, reboot with -f

onboard network = works natively

onboard alc888 sound = use the package HERE

sleep = works when bios set to S3 (woohoo!, sleep never worked on my old computer)

 

it identifys as a mac pro and runs smooth as butter. ran xbench once and got 152... thats way better than the scores in the 60's my old computer was giving me

 

now i would like to try GUID partition scheme...

Well, you can add me to the list of completely functioning Leopard EFI systems, although I had could never get the BrazilMac DVD to boot on my system, so I had to perform a workaround. Here's what I did:

 

1) Install ToH and then perform post-install patch to get a functioning Leopard system.

2)Install NVInject easy install package for video

3)Install ALC888 patch for sound

4)Follow instruction here on installing EFI and restoring vanilla kernel and kexts: http://www.digitmemo.com/articles/734/howt...-in-hackintosh/

 

With this done, I was able to upgrade to 10.5.1 using the software update. I've got full QE/CI on both monitors, sound (only tested 2 channel out to date), LAN. My 256MB video card is detected as having 768MB for some reason, but ti still works fine.

I won"t reinstall all my kext but only the AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer as I think it is at the origin of my problem.

I just want to know if there is a way to definitely install this kext and thus not to have to reinstall this kext after each update...???

Reading and reading into this fabulous success thread, absolutely obsessed with OSX and wishing to install but, being a total novice at it, I cannot find simple answers for my tormented linux soul like:

 

* may I install Leo on a single/separate partition?

* if yes, could this be a logical partition?

* how big should this partition be so I am on the safe side?

* if I use linux tools (fdisk) to create my partition, may I skip Kalaway and go directly to the DVD I downloaded from a site that rhymes with CaratRay.org?

* does Leo have ntfs-3g read/write access like Fedora does, so I could access from all three OS my "storage" partition?

Here it is !! All is ok. Theproblem was as said the AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext.

My GMA950 1440x900 works perfectly.

Now I've seen that i don't have sleep mode, no battery icon and my samsung 120Go FAT32 formatted external drive isn't detected.

I will look for some drivers...

Just proceded to the terminal, copied dsmos.kext and AppleSMBIOS.kext from pc_efi_5.2 pack - is this correct or which kext do I have to use?

Then further according to the tutorial, unmounted Leopard drive, started ./startuptool ./boot_v5

6 lines of the text appeared on the screan and then terminal prompt #

but not 7 lines of text and erminal prompt #

Then I switched back to Disk Util to repair permission. But to repair permissions I had to miount Leopard drive first. So I mounted drive and repaired permission - is this correct????

 

Then I switch off pc manually, started it again, took out disk from drive.

I have Darwin loading (If hit F8) but at some stages it says "still waiting for root device" and stops loading.

no matter what I try: -v -x -s -legacy

 

please help me cos it gets a bit annoying. I probably do smth wrong but what???

 

I have Vanilla kernel kexts but when do I have to apply/copy them ?

Or they are already on the disk.

 

Will try to ToH disk maybe tomorrow but I do really want to do it with Brazilmac and Efi

hi mate. well if you ask abt brazilmac 9a post instal patch - you need to check the Bay or other torrent places.

efi and dsmos from this topic - just need some patience to read all the posts from the very beginning
