grbrum
Hello, I have the folowing issue. I can't boot into leopard without having the Install DVD in the drive. I have a Asus P5B-deluxe with a Pentium D processor. you can see my problem in this video and read the descriptions below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItUVAMBYzFI So, a little history first I installed LEO using Brazilmac method, I had 2 partitions, where the first was empty and the seccond I had Tiger. Then I installed Leo on the first drive and I Figured I could delete the Tiger installation. When I did that I lost everything. Thanks god I had a backup named Time Machine;. So I used the Leo DVD to restore the time machine to the HD. I believe that i lost the bootloader somehow. and I can't figure a way to get it back. I searched the forum and could not find what i need. So, now when I try to bood from the HD, I get blinking cursor. I can only boot from the DVD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItUVAMBYzFI Please help me. Thanks GRBRUM
Cyborg28
If you can get the ToH Lopard Patched RC2 DVD you can try the following. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=68641 Just a warning... I had to run from /bin to get sh to run the script. Cheers! Cyborg28
prototype_sx
http://www.jasonmadigan.com/2007/11/04/bui...d-installation/ instructions and files needed can be found at the site above. Your problem is that your installation is not bootable, so just follow from step 5 on the site above, i GUARANTEE it will be fixed. For reference, you will need to load the install dvd as though you are going to install over and use terminal from there and follow the instructions which arent hard at all. Let me know when you got it working
socal swimmer
1) if compatible, install efi. it is better all around, and will fix your problem 2) post in the right forum. this should be in Post-installation, or installation. not mods and overclocking
Pokopo
I had the same problem and couldnt figure out what it was for a few days until it turned out to be as simple as a bootflag. Get Gparted LiveCD, bootflag your leo partition and you're good to go.
an4rew
I set my partition active via the kalyway dvd... i followed the tutorial but stopped at the bit about using a usb dongle to install bootloader. (if this applies let me know) I been changing the first boot device back and forth from mac disk to dvd to get it to boot somehow. after i use the dvd, i see something about EFI then it loads normal. its not big problem, but very annoying. socal swimmer
yea. If you did not install the bootloader, then that is why it won't boot correctly. To fix this, INSTALL THE BOOTLOADER! and post in the right forum please.
